Shundi Posted March 14, 2010 Report Posted March 14, 2010 A number of fairly rare rums (I was taken to a famous rum bar on Sanibel Island in Florida for my birthday) have dominated 2010...never knew some could be so smooth!
KB Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 Buddy came over from WA for his 50th, last night we polished off a 15yo bottle of Dimple, tonight it is going to be Johnnie Walker Green label. Ken
P4GTR Posted April 24, 2010 Author Report Posted April 24, 2010 hey that looks VERY tasty man! I might have a sip of something tonight. Who knows...
patinga Posted May 5, 2010 Report Posted May 5, 2010 Kentucky, USA. Gentlemen and Ladies: The smooth taste of Woodford Reserve.
BrianSW510 Posted May 14, 2010 Report Posted May 14, 2010 Alcohol... so many to chose from. love them all.
P4GTR Posted July 14, 2010 Author Report Posted July 14, 2010 Exactly to the left of me when I saw this thread pop up. A thrice drained cup of vodka/cranberry (not my usual). A Lee Child novel I am currently reading. My Seamaster, a couple of spyerco's and my great grandfathers marble ashtray ornamenting my desk in the background. My Italian ancestors were marble workers. Behind is a picture of my wife and I. A guitar pick lays about. I have two guitars in this "office" room. I don't claim to be any good.
vlydog Posted July 29, 2010 Report Posted July 29, 2010 Someone knows about the good stuff! Cheers D.
subbiesrock Posted July 31, 2010 Report Posted July 31, 2010 Tried this 2005 Penfolds St. Henri last night as part of a wine + cheeses appreciation thing, brings Friday night work drinks to a whole new level )
diverguy Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Counting down the hours until I leave the office. After a trying week, a date with my couch, a bottle of cabernet, and some cheese is in order. I can usually be found drinking blended scotch, but when I want to feel like I've accomplished something, cleaning up a bottle of wine solo is always a good measure.

The Penfold's. Yah, the Penfolds. I can't believe you didn't save me a glass. It's my favorite. Counting down the hours until I leave the office. I'm trying to switch to wine, if anything at all. I've got to slow down a bit. Italian/Irish blood though, not so easy...

You're welcome anytime mate On a recent wine acquisition tour, I came across a new place... And found these beauties: I'd be far more impressed if those clowns on MTV Cribs had a bottle of Penfolds rather than this crap:
brockelhorst Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 slightly different, but also good and better known
P4GTR Posted December 23, 2010 Author Report Posted December 23, 2010 You're welcome anytime mate On a recent wine acquisition tour, I came across a new place... And found these beauties: I'd be far more impressed if those clowns on MTV Cribs had a bottle of Penfolds rather than this crap: Oh my my. Sorry to requote your pics, but I think they were necessary. If a $20 bottle of Penfolds tastes as good as it does, I can only imagine. The clowns have money but no taste; sheeple that made it. Tonight, Crown Royal, neat. I happened upon four free bottles.

No need to apologise mate, we've since knocked off a delightful 389 and for the break up party a late 90's 707. The palettes of each are quite differentiated, very nice I'm going slowly through a bottle of 1978 Napoleon brandy, fell into my lap and really delicious when warmed slowly over a glass of hot water.
agp Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 A glass of Johnnie Walker on the rocks with a splash of water is good enough for me.
subbiesrock Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 A glass of Johnnie Walker on the rocks with a splash of water is good enough for me. So long as it's Black Label. Apparently JW Black is the drink of choice of Saudi royalty and Saddam Hussein http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=%2F&gl=AU#/watch?xl=xl_blazer&v=BP51NnoVErA If this doesn't work, just YouTube 'Christopher hitchens favorite drink', great little clip.
agp Posted January 1, 2011 Report Posted January 1, 2011 My first scotch/whiskey was a Johnnie Walker Red, and I don't think it tastes bad at all. So I'm going to stay away from Black and save myself some money until I start hating the Red
pabler Posted January 1, 2011 Report Posted January 1, 2011 You Should try spanish Rioja wine and scotch whisky (Lagavulin, Macallan or The Glenlivet).
