Nanuq Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 Mmmmmmmmmmmm, very nice!! I have a special attraction to that one.
freddy333 Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 A shame to waste the date functions. I would have used that 72c to build something like this
mellus Posted May 26, 2010 Author Report Posted May 26, 2010 A shame to waste the date functions. I would have used that 72c to build something like this Whow ... what a nice watch .... But there are some problems ... from where will you get the case, dial and so on ... ???? But I have realized in many of your postings in the past : You are a gourmet ... just like me
alligoat Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 A shame to waste the date functions. I would have used that 72c to build something like this +1
Nanuq Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 How about a Jean-Claude Killy with baton hands? Or an AOPA pre-Navitimer? x2
freddy333 Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 But there are some problems ... from where will you get the case, dial and so on ... ???? A number of dial sellers have them. Here is 1 from Phong (made to fit a 72c)
Nanuq Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 This is very interesting... the Wakmann's day/date pushers at 8:30 and 10:00 stick way out of the case. On my Gigandet they are almost flush to the case.
ubiquitous Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 A shame to waste the date functions. I would have used that 72c to build something like this Yours, freddy? If so... That is quite nice!
omgiv Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 They all look really nice. Using the 72C really changes the style. I like both but the Daytona is more my style. I hope to complete mine someday
ubiquitous Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 No. Borrowed pic. Now I know where you borrowed that one from. Some amazing PPs in that thread...
GarrettP1 Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 Freddy, What's the price range that those 72c Rolex dials are selling for? I saw one on the 'bay quite that was quite similar that was going for $300. The dial was in perfect condition, and that alone made me assume it was of recent manufacture. Thanks, Garrett
freddy333 Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 What's the price range that those 72c Rolex dials are selling for? I just copied the pic. You can check his website. But, knowing Phong, I would guess he charges more than other sellers.
southcoast68 Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 This may be a rather unpopular opinion but, LEAVE THAT WAKMANN ALONE. Its got looks, and a character all its own. This one in particular looks to be in primo condition to boot. I came across one of those a few years ago. The seller was willing to let it go for $800 and I had to leave it do to being broke . That still kills me to this day. Wear that beauty with pride. Cheers
