Brightight Posted July 27, 2010 Report Posted July 27, 2010 I received this yesterday and thought it hilarious. No source mentioned at present so please don't speculate in public as I will not confirm or deny. A replacement is on its way to me shortly with profuse apologies from the dealer concerned, I'll be able to confirm then that this was a one-off -
dbutlerman Posted July 27, 2010 Report Posted July 27, 2010 Cool! It could be the rep version of "PATETED". Definitley a keeper!
Guest Sql_pl Posted July 27, 2010 Report Posted July 27, 2010 Try to locate a Gelena Shitinerand caseback and youll have quite a collection!
dbutlerman Posted July 27, 2010 Report Posted July 27, 2010 Gelena Shitinerand caseback That's funny - I just googled that one. Never seen it before - I am now checking all of my old crappy reps for that
Guest Sql_pl Posted July 27, 2010 Report Posted July 27, 2010 Really? I had a few of Gelenas inside my old crappy 21j Daytonas. They all had 24HR Daytona Winner casebacks.
txcollector Posted July 27, 2010 Report Posted July 27, 2010 Keep it, may be worth something later. just like some versions of misprinted US coins
dbutlerman Posted July 27, 2010 Report Posted July 27, 2010 just like some versions of misprinted US coins Exactly
Dizzy Posted July 27, 2010 Report Posted July 27, 2010 Thats cool i would keep that for sure!!! If not send it to me! I love things like that. I can see how a dealer would miss that when/if they do QC. Not his fault. QC is prob more concerned about date wheels, time keeping, bracelets falling off etc dizz
KB Posted July 27, 2010 Report Posted July 27, 2010 I wonder what it would be worth if it was gen? Can you imagine some bored Rolex worker slipping one clasp in upside down for the Rolex stamp, you know just for shits and giggles, but actually makes a priceless collectors item... Ken
TeeJay Posted July 27, 2010 Report Posted July 27, 2010 As Ken's said, if that was a gen item, it would be priceless As a rep item, it's still awesome for its uniqueness, that would definitely be a keeper for me
P4GTR Posted July 28, 2010 Report Posted July 28, 2010 I wouldn't have guessed someone had to feed these in the machine by hand with the correct side facing whatever way. I had that happen to a Breitling clasp. I was befuddled that this could happen, but then, I was not.
