BuyersRemorse Posted October 28, 2010 Report Share Posted October 28, 2010 Hey folks, I wanted to ask you if there is any dial that is not yet available for reps, or any dial that has some obvious fault, that the community would seriously want to be redone? I am asking because today I received my new tampon printing machine including UV lamp and equipment to create the clichés. I also already got a simple 2D CNC miling machine so creating (miling) and printing/stamping a dial should be as easy as 1-2-3. Is there anything I could do for the community, something that is totally in demand, because creating such a cliché for just one piece is senseless. I love the dials Freddy wants...but where do you source the right fonts??? That seems to be one of the biggest difficulties. AND, for what movements for the spacing?? If you don't know what machine I am talking about, check out this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDCBJKI0pw0&feature=related. They are printing on a Toy-Truck, but its the same procedure for dials. The Vintage Daytona Dial looks Intresting: The Dial form itself should be no problem, my simple $300 2Axis-CNC Machine can do this, including the recessed chronos. No problem to make a film from the vector graphic, expose the cliché, and then etch it. I just asked her, she can do 2400 dpi (instead of 600dpi from my laser printer). I think that should be fine enough :-) As to the brown dial. Don't you think that nice little toy here (Laser Engraver for 618 Bucks) will do it? I always wanted to have one. BuyersRemorse Posted October 28, 2010 Author Report Share Posted October 28, 2010 Best would be a vector graphic, but I think any other format will do it as well ... main thing is that its high quality and more than 2400 dpi. That will be put on a film with 2400 dpi, then i will create the cliché by first exposing the blank cliché and then etching it. That's it.
