New 1:1 crystal on my 201a

Just got and installed one of BigCrown's 1:1 crystal. How does it look? I am not sure if is sits too high. I looks fine on the wrist, but in the first pic ... geez .

Found this gen pic. Case is supposed to be a cartel 11/112 case. What to do now?

Could the gasket be causing the problem? I used the one that was supplied with the crystal.

Have you tried using the original gasket instead the one you got supplied with the new xtal?

As others have said above, it's sitting a bit high indeed.

Did you use the gasket that came with the crystal, or the one supplied with the case? Are they the same height? Try switching them, or using a shorter gasket from another case..

To get an idea, remove the gasket and take a pic of the crystal sitting in the bezel area without it ... perhaps you'll need to get the inner area milled out a bit (The Zigmeister territory I believe).

I will give in a try this evening. I'll source a new case before I start milling this one. I also have a DSN 111 with a crystal that sits too low. I may try swapping them

As people have suggested start with the original gasket before reworking anything.

this oem sapphire crystal is made for the genuine cases not for the rep cases.

the gen cases have another construction for the crystal.

Try using the gasket that is currently in the DSN 111, as the rest of the DSN case is probably not as good as the one you are currently using .... I think

Definitely too tall! Never saw a gen 201A with a crystal that high.

If you're using a getat or Jackson case then it will not fit.....the crystals that come with those cases are much thinner.

You need to find a case with the same thickness as the 1:1 crystals from BC.

My case is supposed to be a Cartel. I think a crystal with a 2.5 or 2.7 mm rise would be perfect. The 1:1 crystal, which 3.5 mm, just won't work on certain cases.

Do not mean to hick jack the thread, but I am about to go the same route, I just received a replacement crystal from DSN and update crystal for my 088 it sure looks thick to me so I am wondering the same how tall should really sit and all PAMs look the same.

The crystal in my case is 2.5 mm. Taka makes a crystal that is 2.7 mm. It should be a good alternative for cases that won't take a the 3.5 mm crystal. I believe my watch will look like the gen above with the 2.7 mm crystal installed.
