Nanuq
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!! I just talked to my son. For his graduation last spring I bought him a sweet Kona Hoss mountain bike. It was also a "congrats" for his earning Eagle Scout too. He had it locked to a light pole at the college, right in front of the commons, and when he got back home this afternoon the bike was gone. Some POS stole it. Man if I get my hands on the guy that did this..... you're gonna read about it in the papers.
cornerstone
Sorry to hear about the bike.... I think whoever stole that bike should be in for an a la Nanuq endurance test.... It's just as well you don't own any big knives or axes or anything, or they would really be in trouble.... Oh, wait. Oh dear.
Thor
Sorry to hear about it... As far as i remember there had been also a nice knife as gift for your son... maybe the POS would like to get in touch with it too
Usil
Every bike I have had has been stolen. The chains and heavy metal locks were no use. I give up. I just buy cheep ones now. If it lasts a year then I figure it was worth the price. Usil

Blindman
Locks only keep honest people honest, or provides an inconvenience to make thieves look for an easier target. If they really want what you have only deadly force will stop them. Be happy that your son wasn't on the bike at the time. In this f##ked up world of ours they'll kill you for a pair of sneakers.
