jmb Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 Here is my first attempt in aluminum. Kinda "cartoonish" but I am starting on another drawing that I hope will be a bit sharper...
nick1972 Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 Very nice! So you could engrave blanco casebacks
jmb Posted March 9, 2011 Author Report Posted March 9, 2011 Damn!you spelled POLLEX wrong D'oh!!!! Nick, that is the ultimate goal... This layout was taken from the case-back on my gen Prince Oysterdate.

jmb Posted March 10, 2011 Author Report Posted March 10, 2011 Here's in stainless steel. I am working on a "sharper" CAD drawing and hopefully I can get better definition out of it...
vafarmer70 Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 I like how this is turning out When do you find time to do all this?
jmb Posted March 10, 2011 Author Report Posted March 10, 2011 About all I do is work and play with watch related crap. I'm so snowed under right now I can hardly breath!
lhooq Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 About all I do is work and play with watch related crap. I'm so snowed under right now I can hardly breath! ...and all you wanna do is ride your bicycle? J, if there's anything you can do for the caseback on my 7032, I'd like to be next in line after C! I also had some bezel ideas, but I don't know if you can engrave a flared, round surface.
jmb Posted March 10, 2011 Author Report Posted March 10, 2011 M, I think I know what you have in mind but not sure if I could engrave on a slanted surface or not unless a "fourth" axis was added...
woof* Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 Looks like a great start indeed mate!! I'll be watching this thread for sure! I'm seeing 5513 based snowflake case back problems starting to vanish in my crystal ball.. That's exactly what I'm thinkin too!

jmb Posted March 11, 2011 Author Report Posted March 11, 2011 Small Chinese three axis router. Once I started adding up the linear slides, ballscrews, motors, electronics, I would have been hard-pressed to build one for much cheaper.
krpster Posted March 11, 2011 Report Posted March 11, 2011 Small Chinese three axis router. Once I started adding up the linear slides, ballscrews, motors, electronics, I would have been hard-pressed to build one for much cheaper. Now that is a cool addition to the shop. Looking forward to seeing the results as you hone is your skills with the new tool.
