chiman12 Posted March 23, 2011 Report Posted March 23, 2011 Love the dial treatment, but now everything else needs to be aged to match...Great job!
panerai153 Posted March 23, 2011 Report Posted March 23, 2011 Great job on the dial. Really looks nice. Age the rest gently!!. Wear it ever day doing everything with it, it will age itself.
lhooq Posted March 23, 2011 Report Posted March 23, 2011 Love the dial treatment, but now everything else needs to be aged to match...Great job! I agree with C. I think it looks good, but start with the hands and the lume dots. They've got to get a whole lot yellower and dirtier.
cib0rgman Posted March 23, 2011 Report Posted March 23, 2011 is this a DW case, and what about the dial did it came from him too, do you have a V72 inside? Thanks
Omega Posted March 23, 2011 Author Report Posted March 23, 2011 is this a DW case, and what about the dial did it came from him too, do you have a V72 inside? Thanks Yes, yes and no (V23 copy with Rolex bridge).
TeeJay Posted March 23, 2011 Report Posted March 23, 2011 Fantastic effect, what technique did you use on the dial?
Guest Sql_pl Posted March 23, 2011 Report Posted March 23, 2011 Looks great! What I can recommend is a nice used gen 78350 bracelet with some stretch. Feels great on a watch like this!
Dizzy Posted March 24, 2011 Report Posted March 24, 2011 Yes, yes and no (V23 copy with Rolex bridge). Does the v72 bridge fit on the v23? I didnt think it would so I never asked. Can you share how you aged the dial?? It looks really good.
Omega Posted March 24, 2011 Author Report Posted March 24, 2011 (edited) Does the v72 bridge fit on the v23? I didnt think it would so I never asked. Can you share how you aged the dial?? It looks really good. You won't believe it - it is smoked and after cleaned up with a Q-tip. So it gets a very nice and accurate old-look. The bridge is from DW, I have two of them here. But only one fits correct without giving tension on gears. I put the DW V23 copy movement apart in all parts, clean it up and use from 2 movements all the best parts and assemble it again. Everything is lubed and oiled and it runs great now. I don't know if the V72 bridge bridge fits a V23, but possibly yes. It looks same. The case is aged and round polished, also a gen 702 crown and tube is mounted. The bracelet is rep with some minor strech, but it looks good to me, even the clasp has seven holes like gen.
