automatico
Agree with By-Tor. Fat lugs and sub C are not 4 me. imho... The Last submariner date made was the 16610. Might wear one on a rainy day. Before that was the Real submariner date, the 16800. Would wear one on a sunny day. Favorite of the sapphires, but must have a matte dial. ...and before that was the Original submariner date, the 1680. Might own a genuine example someday. Nah, forget it. Mucho dinero. The last COOL submariners were the 5512 and 5513. No Dates. No Warts. No Worries. Might let a vintage SD in the house though. ...or a $255USD GMT (1970 list price from www.minus4plus6.com/PriceEvolution.htm )
ceocorona
I'm definitely a fan of the new case. With that said I respect the entire submariner line. I consider the modern rolexs as a different breed. They really can't be compared to the watches of yesteryear.
omegap7
this sky dweller actually looks like something sold in a suitcase on canal street. i couldnt believe it when i first saw it.
hautetime
Has there been any discussion about the new Rolex Sky-Dweller? What's the point of this watch? Totally agree! The Rolex Sky-Dweller is probably the ugliest Rolex ever. The off centered GMT is just a major turn off
jasonwinslow
Vintage every time! That sky-dweller is just plain AWFUL
Nanuq
A shapely case, long lean lugs, a nice round bubbleback and a big lurid dome .... hey are we talking about watches, or women?
lloyd
All I can say about Rolex is lugholes forever. I only own models with lugholes. I like tool watches. Edited June 2, 2014 by lloyd
By-Tor
Tried a gen new Explorer II whte on last week. I kinda liked it. It might be the only attractive modern Rolex watch. New or old model, waddya say?
Nanuq
Hmmmmmm, this is seriously tweaking my visceral dislike for all contemporary Rolex models.
Ronin
Tried a gen new Explorer II whte on last week. I kinda liked it. It might be the only attractive modern Rolex watch. New or old model, waddya say? Awful. Just plain awful. Looks like it came out of a Seiko design studio, or late 90's Tudor design studio. If it were branded Seiko it would be COOL and I would own one. Branded Rolex -- it just doesn't fit. The proportions are all wrong. My .02. blackoyster
Sometimes i think the new style of Rolex is really bizzare.....but more bizzare is the Price...... Send from comandantes
Ronin
Modern Rolex designs are "plump" not properly proportioned versions of their former self. In a way Rolex has athropomorphosized into a middle aged/aging man. Also, I didn't want to cr4p on the Blue DeepSea thread, but -- putting "Gas Escape" (insert fart joke) on the front of watch and Blue + 80's 'Fresh Prince of BelAire' Green = WTF ... Looks like a Doxa and Seiko had Sex and produced the new Deepsea. --- Just my .02. To each their own.

But then I start laughing uncontrollably when they tell me the list price, so that's a no-go.
