ubiquitous Posted July 22, 2011 Report Share Posted July 22, 2011 A good friend of mine had recently helped me procure this little gem; nice, new and never before fitted to a watch. This was to be fitted to my SS 1803, which is currently wearing a worn, slightly stretched and notched 78360: But somehow, I just can't bring myself to cut that little container open. The moment I crack that lid, the bracelet will never be as pristine or as virgin as it is now in it's time capsule... TeeJay Posted July 22, 2011 Report Share Posted July 22, 2011 That DD definitely deserves the pristine bracelet, it's a stunning watch, and I suspect that photos don't come close to capturing the appearance the dial has to the naked eye That watch inspired another of my 'drawing board' projects. I've found a site which can provide the same bracelet/case configuration, with a date-only white dial with the same minute markings as on the DD, but only labeled 'Date' rather than DateJust. He's still providing live coverage of Al Capone's vault, I thought? db- The bracelet is a 78360 w/558s. The 78360 is not exactly a rare bracelet per se; they've gone up in price for vintage examples but new examples like the one pictured here are available via the AD channel. Just bring your watch in and the dealer can order one based on the s/n and presentation of the physical watch in hand. Though becareful- Some ADs will tell you that the watch has to go to an RSC for verification and fitting, at which point you can expect them to start trying to upsell you on a service for the watch, replacement parts here and there, etc. Essentially they are going to try and milk you for all it's worth.
