Nanuq Posted July 24, 2011 Report Posted July 24, 2011 Okay gents, cast your steely gaze upon this Snowflake: http://cgi.ebay.com/TUDOR-SUBMARINER-REF-9411-snowflake-/260822973066 And tell me if you think it's gen, and why. With all the Tudor Sub interest lately, let's educate ourselves!
ubiquitous Posted July 24, 2011 Report Posted July 24, 2011 There are a number of things that I don't like with this one. Specifically, everything...
tmg Posted July 24, 2011 Report Posted July 24, 2011 I'd say a J&W Nanuq. Case looks too thick to me, shape of the ax hands are off, the dial -bleck!, aftermarket T39, case is way too new (granted I can't read Italian and if the listing says NOS) and the insert sucks.
By-Tor Posted July 24, 2011 Report Posted July 24, 2011 I'm not a vintage expert but I recognize genuine Tudor/Rolex Sub crown guards when I see them. This one has fake looking fat and ugly cg's.
ubiquitous Posted July 24, 2011 Report Posted July 24, 2011 Also to note- Wrong movement, bad engraving, lugs are incorrect shape, bezel/insert are no good, crown is not genuine, etc. etc...
Nanuq Posted July 24, 2011 Author Report Posted July 24, 2011 You mean... *gasp* there's nothing genuine about this beauty? Do you have comparison photos for the less informed?
highoeyazmuhudee Posted July 24, 2011 Report Posted July 24, 2011 where to begin with this one. ubi said it right "everything"
Ueno Posted July 24, 2011 Report Posted July 24, 2011 not gen... and it is almost $800 so far and still 6 days to go. I wonder how many more bids it will get...
panerai153 Posted July 25, 2011 Report Posted July 25, 2011 Well someone must have noticed what all of us noticed, it's been removed!! maybe the watchdogs over on the Rolex Forum, no couldn't be those dweebs, they couldn't tell a Tudor from Timex. Don't know who, but someone got it yanked. Good thing, I hate reps being passed off as genuine to the unsuspecting public. Too bad the public at large just hits the "bid now" button, never stops to do their homework!!
