Is a gen 127 for my 1680 worth the money?....

...... Hell yes!

I just repaced the MBW crystal with a gen 127. What a difference. So much more clarity.

I tried a Clark 127 a few weeks back but my watch lost its WR. So I did put back the original MBW it came with. It was ok but having a 1665 and a PN Daytone with both gen crystals there was just something wrong with the 1680.

This post would be worthless without any pictures, so here we go:

I'm sure my pictures will not show what I see and feel after the change but believe me it is worth much more than a gen crystal costs.

Depends. If you're building a 'NOS' watch that represents a new watch than I would say HELL YES. If you'll be aging the lot, to make it look old, dirty and beaten up (scratched crystal, not so great polishing) than I wouldn't bother with it myself (based on normal going rates for T19/39 and the 125/127).
