This is a photo, from earlier today, of the coast road which I use to get to and from work every day.

The wind was gusting to 100mph and while I realise that this is chicken feed compared to the hurricanes a lot of the members need to endure, it is a bit unusual for us to get it as bad here. It's expected to blow itself out overnight.

As this amounted to a slight inconvenience, by way of a detour home, my thoughts are with all the guys who have to suffer the real serious stuff every year!

Great photo. We just had a similar storm here in Los Angeles as well. Gusts up to 100 + MPH. Caused quite the mess. Some people still don't have power and it's been over a week since the storm. Makes you appreciate the amazing power mother nature has. I still can't believe hurricanes blow so much harder than that. I can't even imagine that. It was quite scary just as it was here.

Red --

I'm in Hermosa Beach, and I literally could not stand up in my own alley! Those were the strongest winds I can remember and I've lived here all my life -- hope we are done with that!

Browny -- Not sure where you were standing when you took that shot, but don't do it again! Stay safe...

Awesome pic for sure. Hope all is well. We often take for granted the most simple things in every day life, like getting to work. We should never forget mother nature can be a right [censored] when she wants to be. Stay safe!

Thanks guys,

Thankfully I had managed to get to work before this picture was taken at the height of the storm.

Not sure who took it to be honest, it was a work colleague who sent it on to me.

Things are a lot quieter today, just some flurries of snow, but at least they're vertical and not horizontal!

By the way, in Scotland the storm was nicknamed "Hurricane Bawbag" :D
