ryyannon Posted November 12, 2006 Report Share Posted November 12, 2006 I've got a contact in Korea who's representing what he claims to be the best factory for rep Hermes, Vuitton, Gucci, etc. handbags, wallets and leather articles. I've corresponded with him, and have learned that he's a Canadian expat who's been doing this for several years. He seems to be on the level, can communicate clearly in English and is willing to answer questions and otherwise reassure buyers interested in a specific article. The link to the company website offers examples, prices and basic info. Noteworthy is the fact that they offer payment by credit card (as well as other means), a money-back guarantee and shipping (with tracking included in the purchase price. The pics on the site are a bit summary, but the guy in question will supply more detailed info and pics. The prices check out for Korean manufactured bags - which are slightly higher than the Chinese reps. At the highest end, Hermes bags in crocodile leather are in the $1,200 price range, which also checks out relative to prices I've been quoted by Francis Tse. The cheaper 'embossed' croco leather bags are described as such - which is a good sign. Is the guy on the level? I can't say, but I can say that if people here are interested, they can correspond with him themselves and make their own judgements. Posting what you've found out onto this thread would be beneficial to all of us. In the meantime, here are some excerpts from his last message to me: "....Francis Tse, yes I guess he is a bit legendary isn't he..lol He is a very well networked guy in China and in addition has his factory which makes some of the very best available bags. I occasionally do some business with him. As for Korean replicas... Being here in the business for the past five years has let me see many changes in the business. I've been working with the factory who is making the only birkin in Korea worth seeing. I have gone through piles of samples from other factories with only one other who came up with a close comparison however they were unable to put the system into place where they could supply variety and quality at the same time. Leaving one factory and today there is still only one. The replica business here is under an immense amount of pressure from the government to shut down. The government has been going on a rampage for the past two years escalating the intensity of it this year. They've closed down over 3200 outlets and and some of that number is are factories In fact the factory and I have been exploring the idea of moving the factory to China to alleviate some of this pressure here from the begining of the year. It is currently is a trial period now, two of the memebers from the factory and the owner brother in law are there with a small operation. I have a pretty simple policy on the delivery and satisfaction. Like FT I guarantee the delivery of the bags. With a no quibble return policy. As I am sure you know one could talk until blue in the face but can't convince another of the qulaity because of the nature of the business is a but grey and not to mention it is littered with fly by night scammers. Basically if you don;t like it send it back for a refund. I have that policy because I feel pretty good about quality and detail of what and who I deal with. I'll attach some of pictures that I have I also have some recently updated pictures of some other bags with some better stamps and the gold hardware is much cleaner now.. You'll notice some of the updated points from the camel/gold/tan whatever to the orange matt croc...". Since I'm a nasty bastard at heart, contact info will ony be provided to supporting RWG forum members (plus some special 'RWG Good-Guy' exceptions to the rule) via PM. Lastly, I sincerely hope that our rep watch dealer Sash comes through on his desire to source the highest-quality rep handbags (he's already posted a few here, but no Hermes as yet). As well as being having trusted dealer status, having two sources to compare would be a good thing for those interested in the question. Korean super copies need not neccessarily be made in Korea. The truth of the matter is is that Korea were known for their super copies. This is still the case to a degree, apart from the fact that many factories are relocating to China to avoid being closed down. They still however import leathers and fabrics from Italy and Korea to make their bags. I have an LV super copy, very nice and compared to my friend's LV messenger bag they look, feel and smell identical. Now for TSE: Tse is known to be a top dog. But it is not known to be perfect, this is a fact. I was told a story from a big seller that she used to buy reps from see until she found this other little company, bought a sample and apparently it wiped the floor with TSE's stuff. What she doesn't know is i found out who her supplier is and will shortly be snatching, er, i mean taking her throne from her as a major seller! More to be revealed later... All I'm personally interested in are replica Hermes bags, and am passing along sources as I find them. Hence my contribution to this thread. ryyannon Posted November 15, 2006 Report Share Posted November 15, 2006 Without entering into the who's who (trader) debate, and for anything EXCEPT Hermes bags, allow me to call your attention to Sash - an authorized RWG trader with a keen eye for value and quality - and Ken, equally reputed and who deals more informally through personal contact via the forum. Both have an excellent selection of various marques, and Ken has had some excellent feedback. As for Jaymoi, he's been diligently researching the question for quite some time now, and has had some very satisfied customers. If his new source is as good as he says, it would be great to see his stuff advertised here. Whether or not he feels that it's worth the investment is up to him of course..... There is also Ruby on RWI who has made her customers happy with her offerings. In all, I've never seen any negative feedback concerning any of the above. The Birkin that Sash has looks very good, but expensive... Don't know enough about Hermes stuff to really judge though. I did see these problems, that's what I was waiting to hear. With some QC work, these could be eliminated and an excellent bag would emerge.
