bumroxas Posted June 16, 2012 Report Posted June 16, 2012 How about the new mbk 1680 red dial? Why do most choose white over red?
Jkay Posted June 16, 2012 Report Posted June 16, 2012 Can you pull off a $25,000 watch? The white is a $4,000 watch
Rolexaddict Posted June 16, 2012 Report Posted June 16, 2012 Actually the 1680 market is completely down in France, nobody wants these watches, the red ? a few produced, and thousands on the market ? WTF ? a 1680 white is actually 3500 euros, no more. A red ? noboby wants one, they are all fake, MBW case ? takes gen tube ? takes gen plexi ? Every rep case with a minimum of tools and reflexion accept a gen tube and a gen plexi, One thing is sure : MBW cases dont accept a gen movement and a gen dial without serious case machining considerations, I know what I am talking about, pics soon,
danielv2000 Posted June 16, 2012 Report Posted June 16, 2012 Can you pull off a $25,000 watch? The white is a $4,000 watch 25k for a red Sub? Never! They sell for $8k-$9k. And, that's assuming someone knows the difference b/w a red and a white! Even a double red SD sells south of $25k
Jkay Posted June 16, 2012 Report Posted June 16, 2012 You know what .. I was out at a restaurant and wasnt thinking properly; I was thinking double red SD.
bumroxas Posted June 17, 2012 Report Posted June 17, 2012 (edited) 8k watch maybe but a 25k I wouldn't be using it while walking my dog. Reason is I got the new mbk red sub. Dial is the same as the white excePT for the red print. Everything said is spot on. Edited June 17, 2012 by bumroxas
Watchmeister Posted June 17, 2012 Report Posted June 17, 2012 Has anyone ever done the proper white and red double print to get the right brightness and color on the red? By the way in the U.S. 1680's can be had for as little as $3-3.5k and Reds for $7k. This is why I never bothered to build a gen movement franken of a 1680.
bumroxas Posted June 18, 2012 Report Posted June 18, 2012 tried it on a josh 5513 dial the case unomodded--changed the insert and bracelet from josh's 5513 modded CG's

I don't think I have ever seen a rep dial dune that way and that is a a big fault that could be easily fixed. Shame a a red sub would be a great birth year watch for me
Rolexaddict Posted June 18, 2012 Report Posted June 18, 2012 (edited) bull chit talking, I have actually a gen dial and a gen 1570 movement and a MBK case.... lot of thing are wrong, nothing matching, dont tell me chit, The rep world and the gen world are 2 different worlds, no mystic Edited June 18, 2012 by Rolexaddict

gavidoc Posted June 20, 2012 Report Posted June 20, 2012 To me klocklind1's crownguards look ok. Here's my gen from 76.
Ephry73 Posted June 20, 2012 Report Posted June 20, 2012 Question is, who is selling the 1680 with the nice dials and right CGs E
UT Horn Posted June 20, 2012 Report Posted June 20, 2012 To me klocklind1's crownguards look ok. Here's my gen from 76. I like your nylon strap there, gavidoc! Where did you get it? Also, the lighting makes your insert look a really cool shade of blue. Beautiful watch.
FxrAndy Posted June 20, 2012 Report Posted June 20, 2012 I just think they look a little close to the crown at the bottom
klocklind1 Posted June 20, 2012 Report Posted June 20, 2012 To me klocklind1's crownguards look ok. Here's my gen from 76. That is a nice sub:) Can not have been polished to many times?
Rolexaddict Posted June 20, 2012 Report Posted June 20, 2012 (edited) and what about my crown guards ? Edited June 20, 2012 by Rolexaddict
gavidoc Posted June 20, 2012 Report Posted June 20, 2012 I like your nylon strap there, gavidoc! Where did you get it? Also, the lighting makes your insert look a really cool shade of blue. Beautiful watch. I purchased it from this guy. http://stores.ebay.com/GoodCheapMan-Watch-Concept?_trksid=p4340.l2563 It's canvas, not nylon which is what I was looking for. Not bad for the price. The insert looks blue because it is. It's a Tudor insert. I took the original fat font faded/dial/hands off and put this insert (I have a black one too) and a service dial and hands on it. That is a nice sub:) Can not have been polished to many times? Thanks. It hasn't. Just a light polishing. The bevels are still visible.
gavidoc Posted June 20, 2012 Report Posted June 20, 2012 I just think they look a little close to the crown at the bottom That I agree. Needs to have some shaved off on the base of the crownguard so the crown fits flush with the bezel.
UT Horn Posted June 20, 2012 Report Posted June 20, 2012 Brain fart... I meant canvas and have been looking for a nice one like that.
