dutchguy2
I had quite a few Panerai watches in my hands. This is where I will stop for the moment since I believe these 3 will fill my needs. These are a Noob Pam 111J (modded with Chief AR crystal), H-Fac Pam 380 unmodded and imo no need to mod at all and a DLC Pam 000 Logo (made of H-Fac 026K and 000N).
genoint
Three isn't enough! So many variations. I would need a 114, 288k and probably a 111.
Watchmeister
Fiddy, 28 and Pre-V are probably my big 3. The only two barrel movement I am jonesing for is the 372 but it isn't out yet. And yes, maybe a 3-barrel 8 day some day. I still have gen everything other than movement for the 233 on the off chance a gen movement ever comes my way. StormTooper4
I must resist the call of the RAD. You need a Chrono and an Auto and a PR and a Ti and then a GMT and .........
jamztio
For me, I'm thinking that I must have 4 types of PAM: the 1950 case, the Luminor case, the Submersible, and lastly the Radiomir case. So far I'm still missing the Radiomir, waiting for either the Cali dial or dot dial.

atomic_doug
Actually, I would only need one: the 5218-201/A. (Assuming, of course, that "modern" means anything made after the original Panerai factory stopped producing for the Italian armed services.) As much as I love the brand (and I've had up to six Panerai at one time, both rep and gen), the look is very...unified. One is really all you need. For other types of watch functionality, like GMT watches or chronographs, there are much better choices. Among post-Vendome buyout pieces, I think the 360 and the 000 are 'essential' pieces, as are the 232 and the 127. Anything with too many complications or an automatic movement just isn't "Panerai" enough for me.
