Ueno Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 How about this one? What do you guys think?
dieselpower Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 Very nice. What are the specs on this?
alligoat Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 It's a good looking case, dial looks like a MKII, but why is the 8 in the date window low? Crown is a later 703- the squatty crown emblem. The droop of the crown guards is spot on- same as the gen- heck it could be a gen case for that matter
FxrAndy Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 bezel looks too new like it has just been replaced a good franken at the least of not gen with a date change issue and a new bezel
highoeyazmuhudee Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 the case has no bevel, the lug holes look to small to accept gen bars. the CGs are really thick, isnt this just a PT?
the_rymeister Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 I'm loving it specs please to topoky
automatico Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 It looks a lot like my DW case, CG droop and all. ...but I am more of an 'expert' on shimming 1960's Ducati tower shaft and bevel gear assemblies than rolex cases.
Ueno Posted September 19, 2012 Author Report Posted September 19, 2012 Here are a few more pictures, I hope you guys like it.
DC109 Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 Absolutely fantastic shots! Hard to make a good 16610 rep look unimpressive by comparison, but those beauties do. Can I ask, who sells the unmarked aftermarket case with the gen-like construction?
alligoat Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 That's a nice case- especially if you want to use a gen 1570 movement. Sure it needs a little work, polish the bezel to give it a little age, drill the lugholes to spec, thin the cg's a little and maybe thin the lugs/polish it to give a little older look since there's no bevel on the lugs. But most 1680s lost the bevel on the lugs a long time ago- mine is 34 years old so it's been down the road a few times and been polished, probably more than once. I really like the high crown position and the drooping cg's, rehaut is also spot on. Good engravings would be a big plus.
dieselpower Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 I also would like to know who's case this is. Come on Topoky, spill the beans!
