nwolf1716 Posted January 20, 2013 Report Posted January 20, 2013 Hey how good of a rep is this? Super rep? Will all the dealers carry this version? This is the one I am talking about: http://puretime.co/product/mark-xvii-11-best-edition-ss-black-dial-a2892-on-black-leather-strap/ Thanks
thealphabeta Posted January 20, 2013 Report Posted January 20, 2013 That's a reputable dealer. You can confidently shop there.
nwolf1716 Posted January 20, 2013 Author Report Posted January 20, 2013 Yeah I know, but they are not my favorite dealer. I have tried all the dealers and like a few better then others.
thealphabeta Posted January 20, 2013 Report Posted January 20, 2013 Well ask them? I've seen that on quite a few sites
nwolf1716 Posted January 21, 2013 Author Report Posted January 21, 2013 Oh really? I have not seem that new updated version on any other site. How good is the watch compared to the gen?
HauteHippie Posted January 21, 2013 Report Posted January 21, 2013 Hmmm, pretty nice if you ask me. I'm sure it has some minor flaws, the crown probably being one, but overall I'd say this is yet another fantastic IWC rep!
nwolf1716 Posted January 21, 2013 Author Report Posted January 21, 2013 Awesome! Thanks for the input Chief, I have been waiting for this one and the new omega planet ocean. At least j can get one of them!
thealphabeta Posted January 21, 2013 Report Posted January 21, 2013 The XVI V2 is very accurate if its just that style you're after. The XVII looks very good. Like others have said, on a similar thread, the crown looks a tad large
tommymonk Posted January 21, 2013 Report Posted January 21, 2013 I just pulled the trigger on one of these. It looks to me that Puretime are currently the only TD selling this second version Mark XVII. Everyone else appears to have different configurations of the first version. The face looks good to my eye, I just compared the relative size of the crown with an image of the Gen and it is almost spot on, around 0.5mm off I think.
alt.watch.obsessive Posted January 21, 2013 Report Posted January 21, 2013 I think I'm down for one of these as well. Bit nervous about the "caseback will be engraved as per gen" -- lots to potentially spell wrong ;-).
chrgod Posted January 21, 2013 Report Posted January 21, 2013 I bought the V1 Mark XVI when they came out, I regret that a bit now.. :-( The caseback will probably be ok, albeit the engravings will be too shallow, as with all IWC-reps.
ryaku Posted January 26, 2013 Report Posted January 26, 2013 I am going to try on a Mark XVII but the feeling is that the 39mm of the Mark XVI are a perfect fit for my wrist
ingenieur Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 does anyone know what the lug size of the Mark XVII? is it 20mm or 22mm? regards,
ryaku Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 20mm...isn't it a little too small for a 41mm watch?
ryaku Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 this is what I found on RWI, lugwidth is exacly the same of the 3717, 21mm there was a pic too to prove it
kevshed Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Waiting for mine.... Was looking at a Gen at the airport today, intrigued to see how close it is..... Really like the IWCs prob will get a couple more, but aspire to a gen..... Really nice dress watches.
watcher Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 this is what I found on RWI, lugwidth is exacly the same of the 3717, 21mm there was a pic too to prove it Mk16 and 17 are 20mm not 21mm
chrgod Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Seems like Puretime has updated the pictures of the new XVII. Oddly, the movement is no longer as nicely decorated. :-/ Caseback engravings are shallow... Why cant they fix that!
ryaku Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Mk16 and 17 are 20mm not 21mm http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=189338 I have no idea if the gen Mark XVII has 20 or 21mm lug width. I know for a fact the Mark XVI rep has 20mm

I can't see any change to the listing, are you speaking about this http://puretime.co/product/mark-xvii-11-best-edition-ss-black-dial-a2892-on-black-leather-strap/ ? chrgod Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 I can't see any change to the listing, are you speaking about this http://puretime.co/product/mark-xvii-11-best-edition-ss-black-dial-a2892-on-black-leather-strap/ ? I entered the other Mark XVII. ( the 338 USD version). http://puretime.co/product/mark-xvii-ss-black-dial-on-genuine-black-croco-leather-strap-a2892/ This has a video... It is the same watch, except for the strap and the less extensive decorations on the movement?

Can anyone confirm that ?
