marlin22 Posted February 7, 2013 Report Posted February 7, 2013 I build 127s everyday and never had a chance to build one for myself until now... Get your modem ready, here is my latest Pam 127E ETA Swiss version with all the toys including WSO crystal option, this one is my daily beater and I love it! Here we go..... Daylight pics.... Movement before assembly after I decorated it 6497-1 and converted it to run @ 21600.... And here is the ETA stamp... Cool your modem, thanks for looking I hope you enjoyed looking at it as much as I enjoyed building it and enjoy wearing it everyday.......
Watchmeister Posted February 7, 2013 Report Posted February 7, 2013 Looks really sweet. That WSO (what does that stand for?) is the first crystal that looks remarkably close to gen. IMHO, that should be the crystal of choice.
marlin22 Posted February 7, 2013 Author Report Posted February 7, 2013 Looks really sweet. That WSO (what does that stand for?) is the first crystal that looks remarkably close to gen. IMHO, that should be the crystal of choice. Here is the link, it is not cheap but IMHO one of the best 127 crystals out there. It does have a bluish AR to it, but after researching, so do the later gen. crystals I have attached a YouTube video where you can see the crystal is exactly like the WSO. Crystal: http://www.ebay.com/itm/PAM-127-SAPPHIRE-CRYSTAL-FOR-PANERAI-WATCH-1950-47-FIDDY-/160658371241?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2567fc32a9 Great video on the 127, it shows the light bluish hue AR, and shows that the CG lever is as loose on the gen watch as it is on the reps, so no need to tighten. Go HD 1080 and be amazed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=Q_eVYa_uzh0
ogladio Posted February 7, 2013 Report Posted February 7, 2013 Amazing watch and pictures. That WSO crystal really sets it off and you sure are a master at modding the noob eg series movements!
Watchmeister Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 Marlin- You are so right on the blue hue. It is their big time on the gen. I have seen numerous gens and have yet to see one without a noticeable blue hue. The only one I ever saw without it was one that had been in a motorcycle accident and sent to the service center so I would bet money they used a 217 crystal.
martijnp Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 Great pictures of a great watch! Wear it well Marlin!
FxrAndy Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 The movement looks stunning, whats the recipe

tech Posted February 9, 2013 Report Posted February 9, 2013 Good Lord...just fantastic Marlin...thanks for sharing!
Lo' Posted February 9, 2013 Report Posted February 9, 2013 This piece is wonderful. Were it not for the fact that I currently have my (gen) 000 and 183 up for sale because I can't stand "wallclock-like" watches anymore, I 'd be tempted to ask you to build one for me... great job you did there!!
marlin22 Posted February 23, 2013 Author Report Posted February 23, 2013 I have had many questions about what are all the OEM ETA parts and mods that go into this watch, so here is a visual depiction of all the parts and mods that go into my Swiss ETA 127E Hope this answers any questions...
Inertiadrifter Posted February 25, 2013 Report Posted February 25, 2013 I'm glad to see you post these magnificent watches again Marlin I've got lucky to own one of your modded 111 and love it

aajaxx007 Posted June 1, 2013 Report Posted June 1, 2013 This is an old thread, one i have read many times before, but I just wanted to say, "Damn, nice watch."
markiemark Posted June 11, 2013 Report Posted June 11, 2013 Would this look good on a 5.7' guy with a 6.5" wrist?
aajaxx007 Posted June 11, 2013 Report Posted June 11, 2013 6'2" with 7.5" wrist - personally I wish there was one size larger so I could wear a PAM that looked unGodly huge on my wrist...
netniet Posted June 12, 2013 Report Posted June 12, 2013 Wow, this is very nice. On RG are some gen parts for a Fiddy on sale right now.
