boomer775 Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 Does the blue have too much of a purple tint to it?
JKTOWN Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 The way the hour hand is obscurring the word "date" after perpetual I would say it is a replica.....JKT
gioarmani Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 Looks damn nice, either way! If it's a rep, it's well worth the $7000 it saved you.
FxrAndy Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 Are the CG to small or is it just me and the date mag looks a touch to light maybe 2x??? I will not profess to be a sub expert so i may be wrong
Jetsons Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 Nice watch TT but me thinks it's a rep. It would be tough to spot on the wrist with a gen pearl. What caught my eye was the lume not as evenly neatly applied as the gen & the dial surrounds are a bit thin. Getting picky, the hour hand appears a tad short and the six o'clock marker is too low. With a gen dial and insert it would be as close to perfect outside of the gen & you've saved $$$$s.
jnkay Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 As an owner of a gen, I'll say that if it is a rep, I cannot tell based on this picture.
nietzsche0904 Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 real... deep rehaut without conical shape Ms line up correct crown shape right tone of gold cyrstal sits above the bezel
Ozzy Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 I'll have to go with rep. Looks good though.
alligoat Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 I vote real for the same reasons as nietzsche, plus the shape of the cg's
Pugwash Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 Impossible to tell from that photo, so I'll say Gen, safe in the knowledge that if it's a rep I can blame it on the photo. If you want to really test us, don't use Imageshack as they degrade the JPEG quality. ps. it's Genuine.
Ozzy Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 Something about the pearl doesnt look quite right, but that might just be my eyes. Alsoto say it's ten past three (on watch) the hour hand doesnt seem to be in the right position, but that might be my eyes again.
SportsterRider Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 (edited) I'm not an expert, but it looks like the date is sitting a little low in the window, plue the upper CG looks like it's been shaped/worked. Also, are the TT Subs supposed to have a maxidial? The hour indices look more like an LV or Yacht vs the standard size? I'm gonna go with rep. SR Edited February 8, 2007 by SportsterRider
Category 5 Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 Hmmm. I call real on this one. Reahut looks good, color looks good, dial print is sharp CG looks right, no obvious etching, nice crown, good mag, and the coronet at 12 looks right (not smooshed down like on most sub reps). True the date is sitting low, but that doesn't mean rep in and of itself. That said, the pic is low res, so without more details that's the best we can do.
Raijor Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 The way the hour hand is obscurring the word "date" after perpetual I would say it is a replica.....JKT A good rep.
Dutchy Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 Definately gen. Why? It looks like one, and you own a gen. EDIT: That pearl.....that pearl........
spa Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 since the verdict dind't came out yet -> it's a rep with milled crown guards imo.
Pugwash Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 since the verdict dind't came out yet -> it's a rep with milled crown guards imo. It's a gen. TT will confirm that shortly.
TwoTone Posted February 23, 2007 Author Report Posted February 23, 2007 I can't help but chuckle every time I see this Thread pop up... The picture was from TZ... It was for sale and that was the only picture the seller posted... I passed on the piece... To much disagreement... Thank you all! TT
Pugwash Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 It was for sale and that was the only picture the seller posted... I passed on the piece... To much disagreement... Oh? So this story doesn't really have an ending? ps. It's gen, but it might not have been the watch you received.
TwoTone Posted February 23, 2007 Author Report Posted February 23, 2007 Oh? So this story doesn't really have an ending? ps. It's gen, but it might not have been the watch you received. I guess you and I have different opinions of what a "Happy Ending" is Pugs... I think every time this forum saves a member from a [potential] scam - That that's a Happy Ending... So with that said - my 2-Thumbs up out does your 1 Thumb-Down... I'm changing your nickname from Scoop to Pessy... TT
