I got all the parts I need for my 16520 build...and then started at it.

Pushers, tube, crown, bezel, and crystal...easy stuff.

Then I got the datewheel off of the El Primo. Piece of cake!

Rotor: No problem!

...then I started pulling the bridge.

...and now I'm officially in over my head.

I hope you are pulling our leg :). Cousins has a good break down/ librication chart of the Zenith 400 on their site. Are you cleaning/ reoiling the movement or just taking it apart. If you are just taking it apart, you may run into issues later down the road because the original oil will not be where it needs to be. I would recommend having it serviced since this is a high beat movement and can cause a lot of wear and tear if not properly lubricated. I appreciate the enthusiasm but don't want you to have issues later on. Congrats on the build!!!

I plan on taking dozens of pics and maybe have a video camera recording everything too so I can refer to that when I'm reassembling.

Hopefully after a dozen or so times it'll become second nature.

I admire your tenacity and bravery!!! Probably not the easiest movement to start out on, but if you can put this one back together correctly and properly lubed, then everything else is going to be a downhill slide. Good luck with the build.

Yeah, and a brave man that knows when he's in over his head.

I'm boxing it up to send to someone with a little more experience than me. I could see myself ruining a $1,200 movement with $800 in conversion parts if I'm not careful.
