Nanuq Posted July 13, 2013 Report Posted July 13, 2013 These are from a good hard climb two nights ago with my Troop. For scale, check out the guy on top.The best route in life is rarely the easiest. A little sweat won't kill you. There's no sense looking back, your challenges lie ahead.False peaks can give rise to false hopes. Don't let them. Don't pause too long during your climb, you can lose your momentum.Long shadows don't always come from giants. Work hard while the sun is still up.It's possible to thrive even in a harsh environment.Don't forget to glance backward. You might miss something special.Take time to stop and look around. You're missing good stuff.A Man's reach should exceed his grasp, or what's a Heaven for? 2
Deckard1979 Posted July 13, 2013 Report Posted July 13, 2013 Great views! You live in a beautiful part of the world. It's very true what you said. It reminds me the 3 years I spent in Mountain Infantry back in time..We have done a lot of walking and climbing, used to hate it ,day after day, tired and hungry, snow and ice. But I would come back to it anytime now!
denimhead Posted July 13, 2013 Report Posted July 13, 2013 Very nice B, got back from the Lake a few hours ago after 2 hours of watersking. You know when you got to the top of that Mountain, that's how I feel now with bells on. Not sure if I'll be able to walk tomorrow! 31 degrees her in the UK today
gran Posted July 13, 2013 Report Posted July 13, 2013 Now that is life as it should be lived, judging from that abies species cones its late spring-like conditions up there
JoeyB Posted July 13, 2013 Report Posted July 13, 2013 Beautiful! Tough golf course. Where'd your 2nd shot go?
freddy333 Posted July 13, 2013 Report Posted July 13, 2013 Beautiful, but why not just wait until they build a ski lift? No sweat.
B3nj4min3 Posted July 14, 2013 Report Posted July 14, 2013 Wow, truly beautiful. I could just climb up and sit at the top with a good book, a thermos full of tea and some chocolate digestives. You are a lucky man Nanuq, I can see why you choose to live up there. It's a healthier, happier, freer life. Enjoy my friend.
fraggle42 Posted July 14, 2013 Report Posted July 14, 2013 Beautiful. I'm still annoyed they decided to send someone else to Alaska instead of me, would have been 2 weeks with loads of time to explore. One place to take a holiday me thinks.
