CptTripps Posted August 13, 2013 Report Posted August 13, 2013 Gen 16000 case.Gen1560 Butterfly from a 1014Gen hand set from a 5513Gen crown/tubeYuki DialYuki 20mm Solid Link braceletClark CrystalJMW BezelRe-lumed the hands to match the dial when it came in today. Worked the bracelet quite a bit too.I still need to drill out the lugs, but I'm waiting on the right bit, so when that arrives, I'll be all set. Viola!First build I did everything on, without sending off to MD2020 to fix one of my screw-ups. :-)
monkeypunch Posted August 13, 2013 Report Posted August 13, 2013 Sweet! I'm starting to think there should be some sort of 1016 club
ceocorona Posted August 13, 2013 Report Posted August 13, 2013 Doing the actual work requires more patience then I am capable of, haha. Great work!
CptTripps Posted August 13, 2013 Author Report Posted August 13, 2013 Yeah, I'm real pleased. I made one for my brother a while back, and after this one, I think in going to re-make his.
lhooq Posted August 13, 2013 Report Posted August 13, 2013 There seems to be some sort of 1016 renaissance going on right now. I love it! Great build. That Yuki dial is a huge improvement over what they were selling not too long ago.
CptTripps Posted August 13, 2013 Author Report Posted August 13, 2013 Great build. That Yuki dial is a huge improvement over what they were selling not too long ago. Completely agree. I was honestly stunned. I bought it to hold me over until Whoop is done with his, but I may just use that one for my brother's build. I have a gilt dial coming from Ingod. I hope that one is nice too.
blue. Posted August 13, 2013 Report Posted August 13, 2013 CptTripps that is a stunningly good build Wear it often and in good health
alligoat Posted August 13, 2013 Report Posted August 13, 2013 Nice build! My only criticism would be the yuki 93153 bracelet- with everything else being so good, why not get a decent bracelet? I like the 7836 that came on my Josh 1655 Explorer- it's a great folded link bracelet- and certainly more vintage, and very correct for a rep bracelet. I think I read that Mary at Watch International sells them ($55?), haven't checked to see if Josh sells them.
CptTripps Posted August 13, 2013 Author Report Posted August 13, 2013 I agree 100%. I have another folded-link bracelet that I'd ordered for it, but it hasn't come in yet. The Yuki that I have now is honestly just a placeholder until I get something better. There's a gen bracelet that I may rotate off of another watch later this week too. It's a process...never really "done" until it's...well...done!(I'll take better pics tonight...I left all my cameras at work!)
ghost Posted August 13, 2013 Report Posted August 13, 2013 Gorgeous. But having gone so far down the line, what with a gen 1560 movement, why not go the whole nine yards and put a gen dial in there? If not for a gen dial, i don't usually hunt down gen movements for my frankies
CptTripps Posted August 13, 2013 Author Report Posted August 13, 2013 Already have a dial located...just waiting on pics. :-)
danielv2000 Posted August 13, 2013 Report Posted August 13, 2013 Lovely watch! The 1016 is the watch I keep flirting with, the smaller size being a concern. Can someone post a pic next to a Sub? I have an 1803 which I find on the smallish side. Half way though the day, I get used to it. Thanks

preacher62 Posted August 13, 2013 Report Posted August 13, 2013 It's what I'm wearing this week. I have a nice riveted bracelet. Most comfortable watch I own. Great looking piece! Let's start a club.
danielv2000 Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 LH, thanks. Daytona -check Submariner -check Explorer - still thinking... But these pics certainly don't help the addiction.
CptTripps Posted August 14, 2013 Author Report Posted August 14, 2013 Gen bracelet came in :-) NOW we're talking! Still gotta drill out the lugs, but this baby is about done! ...and just for good measure. I'll take a pic with his other brothers this week.

Agreed alligoat. That Gen bracelet just sealed the the deal! Very nice.
lhooq Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 Gen bracelet came in :-) NOW we're talking! ImageUploadedByTapatalk1376448591.696504.jpg D: Is this the gen bracelet in the pictures? This looks like a rep folded-link.
1680 Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 D: Is this the gen bracelet in the pictures? This looks like a rep folded-link. +1 do you have better pictures, does it have the T-type endparts for 382 endlinks, or the other one for 280/258/380.
CptTripps Posted August 14, 2013 Author Report Posted August 14, 2013 Good call guys! I didn't realize I put the gen on my 1655 and the rep on this one. I had 3 of them on the bench last night trying to find the right end-link/bracelet combo. Guess I don't know how to tell them apart as well as I thought!I bought the gen bracelet off if VRM last week, and I'm quite certain it's legit. I'll take better pics when I get home. (Now I'm curious what the tells are!)All-in-all, I'm much happier with this bracelet than the other. You're right...really completed the watch nicely.
ogladio Posted November 18, 2013 Report Posted November 18, 2013 Already have a dial located...just waiting on pics. :-) Any update re gen dial?
