GWP123
Hello All, I bought the BP Sub a couple weeks ago. I am super happy with it, beautiful watch. Until recently, all good, all of a sudden however, the bracelet started squeaking pretty badly. Whenever I shake my wrist or move it, it squeaks. It is annoying but above all gives a pretty cheap impression. My questions are. 1. Is this normal? 2. Has anyone else experienced this? 3. How can I fix it? ......I tried applying baby oil on the link I believe was making the squeaking but I don't hear any improvement.
flyr
Try teflon dry lube for bike chains. Soak bracelet overnight , work links back and forth up and down in a twisting motion. Let air dry then wipe down and wear. Works every time for me!
PeteM
There are a few guys that have posted what they do with OTB bracelets ...the term is usually referred to as an Oil bath or bath.... when searching... But I would also advise that you check any screws after any method you use and make sure everything is tight .... I would also suggest you use some thread screw glue such as loctite just to ensure the screws stay where they should..
tomhorn
I use the dry chain lube (White Lightning is my preferred brand) method as well, Works like a charm and also if you let it soak for awhile does a good cleaning of all the grime too. Nightwatch
Would like to hear more experiences/opinions on the Teflon based dry lubes. Our bracelets are in direct contact with the skin at least 12/7, normally in a rotation, so skin-contact exposure is even higher as there is always small residues even after well cleaning. Finish line package says: Read precautions on back panel. Any observations on this? Because of (possible issues?) until now only used baby oil spray well soaked for 24 hours better 48 hrs, so not a bit here and there but lots of it. Bracelets indeed get smoother and heftier, no squeaking. Long-term durability unknown.
Nanuq
I second the White Lightning chain lube. It's wax based and works great.
