dbane883
Looks terrific. Why is there a "?" on the gen dial?
denimhead
Looks terrific. Why is there a "?" on the gen dial? When i originally bought the dial it was clear from the stampings on the back that the dial was Genuine Rolex, however I was unsure if it started out life as a 1655. Or possibly a re-finished one. Using my 1655 obsessive eyes, the shape and size of the frog foot coronet is correct for a mk2 T SWISS T dial and the lume looks original and un-touched. franz1158
True, confirmed by two experienced watchmakers. take a look at the printing of letters and the coronet .... so I think I remove the "?" .... hava
Looks great. The ingod case is much better that Josh 1655 case? I think Josh 1655 case was very good.
ghost
Nice one! Did you preserve the feet on the dial? Seeing as how you used an ETA movement, how did you get around it? If you didn't...well you're a braver man than me! A genuine question: Could tritium still be glowing after all these years?
franz1158
@ hava: thanks Mate ... there are two different things ... in any case JoshCase is not bad, but you must do some work (CG) and if possible change the bezel to have the correct flat four. However, there remains the problem that if you use a dial type Yuki or a genuine dial we have not correct distance between the indexes and the rehoult Here is a comparison between a Josh's case (worked) and Ingod protype case
franz1158
@ ghost: Thanks Mate ... feet have been removed ... Domi has a special ring to attach the dial. with regard to the tritium i can not answer .... certain is that after a long exposure to light the glowing is really poor! hava
@franz1158 thanks for the pics. Then the ingod option is best option than Josh one. I love 1655, to be honest i love all vintage Rolex.
