Planning to buy this nice 1665. I am not sure if this is a MBW, or a more recent MBK. Your help will be appreciated. attachicon.gifimage.jpg

It has a beautiful ingod44 rail dial ! InGod doesn't make them anymore and it is the closest rail dial I have seen !

That's not a rail dial, is it? I thought rail dials were SC and OC lining up that middle gap...

Sorry my mistake .. It is not a rail dial and it is not from ingod... I just took a glance at it .. You are completely right !!

Looks like an OK dial though! DW might be a bit low, but overall pretty good...

Do you have other pictures? It might help others ID it (I wasn't in the rep game when they were MBW, so I couldn't help you).

Unless it's had case work, that's not the earlier MBW. Here's mine straight from the hands of Maria.

Hmm, CG are different, crown on dial is different, bezelteeth are different etc. etc.

Ergo, not a MBW. I suppose it is a MBK which still can be bought from Reg.

Nanuq's is a very earlly MBW- doesn't it even have a 2824-2 in it?

You need to check the engravings- "ORIG POLEX DESIGN"

then the inside caseback- Gelena Shiterand

SN on those early MBWs was 5,78x,xxx or 5,79x,xxx as I recall.

the pearl looks like the typical MBW pearl- an opaque white.

I'm betting later Mbw mate, I have a few and if you check the serial it should give an indication of early/late one  :)  pearl is terrible btw (mine are same lol)

The early mbw GW have 5789899 serial no.

My case has the 5790188 serial with a white dial but the back for the double red. I guess that they just fitted whatever parts were available.

The polex design inscription was only on the submariner cases. I have a 1680 white with polex design between the lugs.

I hope this is helpful.

My year and a half old MBK POLEX 1680 and age unknown 5513 cases are all L342xxx.

I wonder just how many 'Genuine' POLEX MBW/MBK 5512/13, 1680, and 1665 cases are owned by RWG members? No 'unmarked/claimed to be' cases allowed.

I have two 1680 cases from Reg and one 5513 case from a trusted RWG member = three (3).
