mcotter Posted January 4, 2015 Report Posted January 4, 2015 Rolojack, You Sir are the consumate case "Tweaker" & your polishing is truly magical! All evidence of its rep background has been erased. I have so enjoyed your displays, they are absolutely stunning...I'll never forget your black dialed pre-Daytona.....You are bringing our craft to a higher level! Thanks for showing off your work!....Best, mcotter

Kime Posted January 8, 2015 Report Posted January 8, 2015 Wow ... and that is some spectacular dial aging... any tips?
rolojack Posted January 9, 2015 Author Report Posted January 9, 2015 Wow ... and that is some spectacular dial aging... any tips? For both dial and hands it's a mix of brown china ink and waterbased felts. Then, revarnish the whole plate to fix the color and create the texture.

rolojack Posted January 9, 2015 Author Report Posted January 9, 2015 I like to think so too. Aged but not damaged !!! Simply weathered by the UVs and handeling from past overhauls.... as any gen.
1680 Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 I thought about this particular mod a few times I think we even had a chat about this. At the moment my Explorer is perfectly watertight and I am afraid I could loose that. But it looks sooo good

mcotter Posted February 26, 2015 Report Posted February 26, 2015 keister, Your best resource for a nice 1016 build is JMB ,very active on this forum & a gentleman to boot...That's your best bet! Best, mcotter
IAN2109 Posted February 26, 2015 Report Posted February 26, 2015 Just measured it with my new calipers! The diameter of this case including crown is 38mm. The crown is a gen 600, so not sure what diameter this makes the case....
IAN2109 Posted February 26, 2015 Report Posted February 26, 2015 Just been looking at "Vintage Rolex Sports Models" by Martin Skeet/ Nick Ural. Gives the case diameter of the 1016 as 35.5mm.....
lhooq Posted February 28, 2015 Report Posted February 28, 2015 I measure almost exactly 36mm without the crown. You don't include the crown when you measure case diameter.
dpap Posted March 1, 2015 Report Posted March 1, 2015 The crystal also looks great. Which verlux model is the t21?
watchguy07 Posted March 1, 2015 Report Posted March 1, 2015 I'm looking to pick up a JMB 1016 if anyone is selling theirs. I also have some bklm trades I could offer
rillz Posted March 4, 2015 Report Posted March 4, 2015 Hi! Which handset is preferred for a service dial style, white lume 1016? TC V2 hands or Yuki 1016 hands?
