FrancisWhitman
Hi all, brand spankin' new to the forum / realm of reps in general and am looking to narrow down a search for a small-ish chronograph. I've got some serious stick wrists (~6.25") and am having a trouble finding something 38mm or under, which is where I typically have to draw the cut-off line. Not looking for something terribly fancy or luxurious; I definitely prefer a simpler look. Think Tag Heuer Carrera circa 1960, IWC Pilots, Rolex Pre-Daytona, Zenith El Primero Classic. Those are all a bit out of my size range, so hoping to mine the vast knowledge on display here for any recommendations. Generally fonder of dark dials but am learning very quickly that unsubstantiated pickiness probably won't get me very far. Open to anything and everything. And hey, if nothing turns up, I'll just sell a kidney and pick up a gen Carrera 1964 re-edition... A million thanks!
Mike on a bike
Carrera 1960 not repped that I saw, smallest was this: https://puretime05.com/carrera-chronograph-blackred-dial.html Going to be tough find but if you want something to play with at 38 x 9.5 this should fit you well on the cheap. https://www.longislandwatch.com/Boccia_Mens_Quartz_Chronograph_p/3780-02.htm Ah this one works, https://www.ebay.com/p/Tag-Heuer-Carrera-Cv2113-0-Auto-39mm-Steel-Mens-Strap-Watch-Date-Chrono/1801557368 It's a 38 not a 39. Sogeha
Rolex Daytonas are small and discreet. Finally we have some really great choices both vintage and modern. You might think a Rolex is flashy and you maybe couldn’t pull it off, but most of the guys here will tell hardly anybody ever notices your watch, those that do mostly couldn’t spot a rep and if they do so what, who cares
tomhorn
I have a 6.75" wrist, and love my 6263 and IWC 3717. I also have an Accutron 26C02 gen, which sits quite nicely. IMO, as long as you stay at 42mm and below, you'll be fine. Edited March 28, 2018 by tomhorn
FrancisWhitman
Great info, thanks all. I did come across a mention of the Tag CV2113 (the one from the gen ebay link) > https://www.repgeek.com/tag-heuer/150596-tag-watch.html#post1692200. He made some specific comments about one version being better than another, suggesting reps of this model do indeed exist. Posted back in 2011, so will have to see if these are still around. Thanks also for pointing me to PureTime's current URL; I'd been having trouble tracking that down. He's got a Carrera Calibre 18 listed (https://puretime05.com/carrera-calibre-18-chrono-ss-cream-black-dial-on-black-leather-strap-jap-quartz.html), which I friggin' love, but oddly the case diameter is listed at 43.5 which is quite a bit off from official Tag site (and all other sources) which suggests case should be 39. Will have to email and get some clarification, because that thing is a beauty. Rolex 6263 is grand, as is the Pre Daytona 6234, which I've seen repped in other forums. In 2011 they most likely were repped but as new models come out factories go with new hotter selling models and discontinue some.
philwongnz
I have been on rep forums since 2010, I can't say I had seen a vintage Heuer been repped. At that time it wasn't expensive to buy a gen (1500ish USD). Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk
Mike on a bike
Speaking of 38mm chronos here is a beauty. Yes I bought one sucker for a Panda! Another watch! wife is going to kill me, they are all over the place...........

Slightly beyond my reach at the moment, but yeah, not a bank-buster by any means. The Aramar is pretty slick! Not especially keen on pandas myself but gotta love the trusty SeaGull movement. And always nice to see 38mm chronos. Edited March 29, 2018 by FrancisWhitman
Mike on a bike
All your fault Francis! LOL I started looking around when you asked and stumbled into that one and naturally I bought it. 21 hours ago, SuperDanX said: I wish someone would rep the 60s Heuer Carreras My above buy pretty damn close. Cromag
Have you checked the Skinny Wrist Club thread? There are a few really good examples of what you seek: https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?share_fid=5666&share_tid=150900&url=https%3A%2F%2Frwg%2Ecc%2Fapplications%2Ftapatalk%2Findex%2Ephp%3F%2Ftopic%2F150900-Skinny-Wrist-Club-thread&share_type=t
TAG Heuer
I always keep myself around 38-40 mm for my wrists, but sometimes you come across some nice things that maybe just a size is too big but are nice to wear, like this one ..
