Mickey Padge Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 I just noticed the 1000M water resistance Are the watches pressure tested before delivery? The QC must be very high for that remark Cheers
omd Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 Remark: A real diving replica watch, if the watch breaks before reaching 1000M, watch will be replaced and I will pay for the return shipping fee. Can the warranty be extended to the widow?
chris5264 Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 mmmm,,,,,the first rep I've been interested in, in a LONG time.........
takashi Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 Sorry for the thread hijack... Here are the pictures of genuine calf strap with buckles for comparison.
Watchmeister Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 Angus- It looks great. Can't wait for my chronomat. You are doing everyone here a great service.
chrgod Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 Finally the Steelfish surfaces! And it looks good. ( Cool with the depth rating..) I suppose the Asian version has the same, ETA-type, datefont? I just noticed that my new ultimate PO has almost identical font for the 6-9-12 on the dial... That number style must be in fashion at the moment!
PureTime Posted February 3, 2007 Author Report Posted February 3, 2007 A quick reply: Pressure tested for 10ATM but the watch maker claimed 1000M+ resistance. AR sapphire crystal is installed on the watch in a 99.99% dust free environment which a brain surgery can be taken place. No lume shot at this moment but the lume is very good.
longshot Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 since i stoopidly sold my seawolf i suppose one of these is a must have just need to decide between black or blue, and convince myself the chopard MM is not worth waiting for!

Del_RFC Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 I'm getting this bug bad, another watch I must have Is it better to buy now and tell the missus later???? As that old "Scottish" proverb says... "It's easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission"

Guest paneraifreak Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 well hell yes, lmao joe This happens every time a new rep comes out: in all the excitement, nobody seems to be examining the soecs or the accuracy very closely until many of us bought the watch then OOOPS a review or a post comes out pointing out the flaws then, a bit later, some of the watches appear in the For Sale section, from people disillusioned or disappointed with the watch. So I will ask some questions: Is the bezel nice and tight? Is the AR strong enough to withstand some splashing or washing of the watch? Is the bracelet of great high quality? Will some screws be ceased and unscrewable? Is the date wheel well aligned? How is the crown? Nice, thick and smooth? Will winding manually be smooth and problem free? Just asking before dropping $395 Canadian. I gotta a decision to make here you see: spend $400 CND on a new rep or take up the offer from a Canadian fellow to buy a gen Tag Heuer Link for $600 CND??? I mean the Superocean is for sure looking good in the photos/// Luke
Guest RiverwindMDS Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 Whay not repping this? http://cgi.ebay.it/Breitling-Superocean-GM...1QQcmdZViewItem Also I love that watch, but the price this time is a bit high for a watch that is so cheap the original...

I mean the Superocean is for sure looking good in the photos/// Luke As Angus says in his ad, this watch does not have AR. Date alignment is usually not an issue with unmodified ETA or Asian movements. I think this watch will follow up the recent trend with high quality bracelets and parts. Of course there will be minor differences from the original, that you discover when you have the watch in your hand. Like the bezel and crown feel... A genuine TAG Link or a high quality rep Breitling ( for about 1/3rd of the price for a used gen..) Your call! EDIT: The advertisment says that the ETA-version has AR, while the Asian version has no AR.

Nebakanezzar Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 As Angus says in his ad, this watch does not have AR. Errr...read it again, the $338 ETA-2824 version DOES have AR; the $198 Asian 21J version does NOT have AR. I went to a dealer to check these out, rep looks spot on (Thought I claim to be no expert), and go for the blue dial!
Watchwatcher Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 angus, only one question... same one i usually ask... how thick is this rep... from pics it looks like 14-16mm? yes/no? how does this compare to the gen?
supermanx Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 As Angus says in his ad, this watch does not have AR. Actually the ad says ETA has saphire with AR, the asian has Mineral Glass without AR
thealphabeta Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 If i hadnt just bought a Rolex GMT 2 yesterday then i would have bought this - its beautiful. For me it would have to be the black dial though on leather - simply stunning!
