Dario33 Posted September 12, 2007 Report Posted September 12, 2007 (edited) Was only a matter of time...looks to be quite poor at first glance though. Edited September 12, 2007 by Dario33
TK471 Posted September 12, 2007 Report Posted September 12, 2007 It seems pretty inaccurate to me. Color, sweep seconds hand don't seem right.
Dario33 Posted September 12, 2007 Author Report Posted September 12, 2007 (edited) ^ Yep - sweep seconds hand is off as is the pearl. Caseback doesn't seem right either. Edited September 12, 2007 by Dario33
anton Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 Well, as we all know, this is just a crude prototype. Give it a month or two and they'll be improved. I bet this is the 21J movement.
Victoria Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 Fugly watch if you ask me. Wow, it looks like a Franken project by a particularly mad Panerista. A marriage between a PAM 187, a T3, and do I see a bit of Corum too?
BobM Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 Fugly watch if you ask me. "fugly" ... ... Wonderfully expressive term! Never heard that before. Hmmm. I learn something new every day on this forum.
Craytonic Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 This is why you don't [censored] your cousin.
jfreeman420 Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 Is there really a genuine counterpart to that watch?
anton Posted September 16, 2007 Report Posted September 16, 2007 Apparently there is. Here's one iteration: Being that it probably uses the Valgranges movement, I'd be darn well upset if it costs as much as the BB Chrono.
jfreeman420 Posted September 16, 2007 Report Posted September 16, 2007 I just read the Big Bang king is 48mm. The reps seem to be 43mm. Trusty has one that looks just like the chrono big bang without the chrono, but alas only a fantasy model. The gen has fake screws on the bezel. WTF were they thinking? Far stretch from the beautiful big bang.
anton Posted September 16, 2007 Report Posted September 16, 2007 This watch is assumedly an alternative to the AP Royal Oak Jumbo, since the Big Bang is the "copy of a copy" of the ROO. But I can't help to think that it looks like a Yacht-Master alternative instead.
Rxus Posted September 18, 2007 Report Posted September 18, 2007 Actually if their is a gen variant with ceramic bezel/SS non chrono a rep would sell pretty well. Not to mention it would be a cost effective alternative for those of us who refuse to pay 800+ for an asian 7750 watch. Maybe have a ETA version and a lite version much like the UPO both with double sided AR and saphire. Or heck make the lite version have no AR but keep the saphire.
Dario33 Posted April 27, 2008 Author Report Posted April 27, 2008 (edited) As per Josh/Andrew, much better version of the HBB King to be released in June. Edited April 27, 2008 by Dario33
JWR Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 What stinks is that they'll undoubtedly use the running-chrono-seconds 7750... which... the sweep sucks on. even though there's a closed caseback
MADRED7 Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 Where did it surface? C-street? Honestly....this BigBang is not KING! Theo
phaedo Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 Saw a real one today, and it actually looked pretty good.
rodwc Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 I honestly can not find one good thing to say about this "piece". The faux screw heads actually look tacky.
DemonSlayer Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 I'm not very impressed with this model, I think the HBB looks a lot better than this one. I can definitely see the similarities between this one and the YM, the bezel says it all.
Blobzor Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 Hublot sucks, they are only good at copying others design and then copying themselves to oblivion. The movements inside the gens are nothing but common movements, but the price tags are still VERY high.
vric Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 I really love my Black Magic, but this ons is blah... And I guess it will be in the same price range as the HBB lite.. Sooo happy, more money in my pocket... til next one
nmachen Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 Looks pretty damn good to me. Check out the pics: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=71973
archibald Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 As much as I admire Biver for turning half-interesting design and plain stock parts into a personal gold mine, I just don't see the Big Bang thing, rep or gen.
