Highflyingclive Posted October 7, 2007 Report Posted October 7, 2007 Whilst browsing for references for the Pam 212, I found this: http://vancouver.craigslist.org/jwl/438566476.html Hey! That's my shirt, my desk and my 212. The rare version, with AR. I have published this pic on the forums - and only on the forums. So we have a nasty little sneak-thief in our midst. I'll be watermarking my pics in future. Take your own pics, scammer. Whilst I am flattered that you chose to publish my photo, rather than illustrate whatever crappy version you have for sale, I trust that you will forgive me when i tell you that I hope that you die, soon.
Sylar Posted October 7, 2007 Report Posted October 7, 2007 Sucks to hear clive. Ive seen some of Vacs pic on Ebay.
LordRasta Posted October 7, 2007 Report Posted October 7, 2007 Well it is a nice shirt....goes well with the watch. I wonder what will happen when they cannot produce the EXACT watch in the pic?
By-Tor Posted October 7, 2007 Report Posted October 7, 2007 Lots of my pics appear on Ioffer rep sales. Personally, I think life is too short to take stress about it.
stilty Posted October 7, 2007 Report Posted October 7, 2007 Hey, I know a guy, that knows a guy in Vancouver that can take care of this little problem for you. haha I've had plenty of my photos stolen when I used to do a lot of eBay business. Watermarking definately helps, as well as sending emails to the theifs and reporting.
TwoTone Posted October 7, 2007 Report Posted October 7, 2007 Found him Clive... Check your PM for info... TT

Corgi Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 How you found this, I have no idea, but the whole problem of photo theft is so huge and impossible to control that it's best not to care. You can't save everyone... you just have to trust that people will be able to apply common sense to purchasing goods over the net.
anton Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 Good thing you spotted the scam, clive...even though it was on CL, I'd expect that it was part of a scam to get Joe Sucker to send money to a mission in West Africa...
Willith Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 "This posting has been flagged for removal" I got the same message. I guess I'm a little too late. On a side note I live about 2 hours from Vancouver, so I guess I could make a trip and see this watch is person, what was the price?
Highflyingclive Posted October 8, 2007 Author Report Posted October 8, 2007 A bargain at only $200, Willith. Be sure to get the version with AR crystal, as shown in the photo
woody Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 so what are we doing about the scammer? anybody on the admin team care to share? just curious.
TwoTone Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 A picture thief isn't quite a Scammer... However... He probably won't be able to steal anymore pictures from RWG anytime in the near future... TT
tag Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 what's the big deal. are you taking pictures for a living? if not why not letting others using your pics in the same way you use a shareware? of course it would have been polite from him to ask first...
ratchpot Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 However... He probably won't be able to steal anymore pictures from RWG anytime in the near future... TT I take it Admin has authorised the hit...
KB Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 I take it Admin has authorised the hit... TT doesn't need authorization he is a Co-dmin Ken
ratchpot Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 I didn't think of that. They never had co-admins in the Sopranos
KB Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 Well in the Sopranos they would be the first guys you hit Ken
