Thanks for that....

(I believe that this is the same shop as helfands on eBay.)

last time i bought from them, they sent me the same thing as RaymondLee's, which is inferior to JewelryOutlet's. They show gens in the pics but send you something different.

Give my regards to Dawn!! ( I got the Watch Crystal Encyclopedia from them)

Also, it may be prudent not to mention reps, as they are a bit "old school" and maybe not too receptive to this hobby.

I received a generic 16800 insert from Dawn 2 weeks ago and the pearl is very good, maybe slightly darker than the gen but very well finished as was the bezel insert too.

I'm curious about how good the green bezel is as I'm tempted to swap my WM9 Sub into a 50th edition with new dial and hands too.

edit: woops, this insert actually came from wholesaleoutlet, my bad..I have a helfands insert on my sub and its pretty good...This one is going on my super sea dweller...Its has a pretty decent pearl, and fonts are good

The ones I saw today look a little better than that one. Paint is smooth & even, metal is flat (where watchmaterial's had a slight bowing to it), pearl is above & beyond, and font-width/spacing is phenomenal.

Looks 100 times better that any other aftermarket I've seen. I'd post pics, but camera's out on loan.

He's now out of Sea Dweller inserts, btw; the rest are in in two weeks:)

Here are some older pics for comparison. Here's Jeweleryoulet:

Here's a previous one from Florida watch & jewelers:

The main turn on about the new ones are the pearl and the insert's skinnier font.

Dawn wasn't present, but I did have the new Sea Dweller (fully modded) on my wrist--to check the new insert's size--and made no mention of its manufactured origin. Didn't look like it raised any doubts though. ;)

I will say this about helfands inserts: I picked one up for my 1665 a couple of years ago. I wanted to age it, so I left it face up on my outdoor BBQ....After a couple of months, it was still shining like new!! I soaked it in Clorox...nothing! The only way I could finally fade it was by using rust remover. That thing was bullet proof.

That's where I get my inserts from...no complaints. I also like their plexi crystals.

Hmmm...If a cheap aftermarket sapphire fits the new SD rep, a gen SD sapphire would fit too...

gioarmani,

does the new pearl looks like the one on the pic you just posted ? and why two different bezel sizes on their website?

Thanks

Good question... does it fit the new super SD without grinding and shaving?

Since I've gotten a slew of PMs on 3 different boards for this...

I believe the older/vintage subs take the 315-5513-1-I

New SDs take the 315-16660-1-I

Modern subs take the 315-16800-1-I

LV subs take the 315-16800-GRN-I

TT blue subs take the 315-16808-2-I

and TT black subs take the 315-16808-1-I

Dawn is great. I bought a 16610 tube from them, its great. gio, did you buy a sd crystal from them? I'd love to know if a gen crystal would fit without buying a gen crystal to try...

thanks for the heads up
