David Arnold wants Amy Winehouse to do the theme song, and I have more than just a suspicion that her entry to rehab (despite saying 'no, no, no') today might be related. Her personal life is pretty much a train-wreck, but I think she has a great voice (reminds me of Nina Simone) which would work really well with David Arnold's music. IMO the casting of Miss Arterton was a throwback to the bad-old-days of putting flavour-of-the-moment eye candy British actresses in Bond movies. Spoiler : highlight to read.. It is more english type you know and he wears brioni. and he was more loyal to the original because he had a walter ppk despite he later got a p99. my sister says the new bond seems to be from East Europe.. like polish instead of english. btw, does anyboduy notice that craig does not wear belt with the slacks? Strange logic - you say an Irishman wearing an Italian suit is more 'english type' than an Englishman wearing an English suit? Pierce was OK, but he was chosen for the role when Roger Moore was the present incumbent, and the Moore era was as far removed from Fleming's character as Bond ever went. Bond has now returned to his roots, and Brosnan would have been irrelevant to that. Daniel Craig was and is the right man for the job. The darker way the story is told is so much more interesting than stupid gadgit jokes and funny sex names. Bring me more bond movies like this and I will continue to love and anticipate them. I thought Bond movies were dead after the last 5 or 6 sucking so bad. Come on that one with Peirce on the BMW bike was like a Jackie Chan movie but with out Jackie! But with Casino Royal I was there ! I mean I was so hooked right from the opening scene ! I want more! Cant wait for Bond 22 ! Absolutely spot on. Bond needs to look like a killer. Casino Royale proved me wrong, and it ranks right up there as my favorite Bond film. I think Victoria is right, selection of the respective Bonds, and also the style and direction of the movies was done with specific intent. I believe selecting DC and the style of CR were a specific response to the Bourne movies. Will be interesting to see how these two "series" play themselves out ... I loved Moore as Bond but for more of a comical angle. I also thought Dalton played the roll very well but my favourite so far is Craig. Saying that we shall see how he gets on in his next film. To be honest, I didn't have any problem with Lazenby at all. I think people just didn't like him at the time, simply because he wasn't Sean Connery. (also, I'm not too sure how people of that era took to new actors playing established characters.
