StormTooper4 Posted May 27, 2008 Report Posted May 27, 2008 Is this the most expensive rep ever ???, sorry if this has already been mentioned BUT YIKES!!! When will it stop. I
_brian_ Posted May 27, 2008 Report Posted May 27, 2008 This rep is more expensive... and looks better too IMO: http://www.trustytime88.com/index.php?main...products_id=942 I
geo1nah2a Posted May 27, 2008 Report Posted May 27, 2008 Well, for 2.5k$ they could at least offer true engraving on the caliber and spell it correctly (not "VACHERO CONSTAN")

Corgi Posted May 27, 2008 Report Posted May 27, 2008 The most expensive I ever saw was from Joshua - about $4,500
slickdick Posted May 27, 2008 Report Posted May 27, 2008 TT is right, i've got the gold FM back in 2006 for the same price as it is currently listed 1600usd, while the goldprice has increased quite a bit since 2006... i think its a bargain.
steppen Posted May 27, 2008 Report Posted May 27, 2008 i thought the most expensive were the AP ones with the seconds at 12 module

alt.watch.obsessive Posted May 27, 2008 Report Posted May 27, 2008 At least the Muller cases are reasonably accurate. On the other hand, you can put a gen Sunset dial in Josh's (ahem) white gold cheapo Asian model Casablanca which now has a good crown and hands and have 99% of this for under $150 easy.
hambone Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 The simple answer is the solid 18 karat gold case. Not plated, the real thing. Josh and Trusty have a few of these solid gold reps and the cost 1 to 2 K easy. The price of gold is climbing as fast as oil.
Watchmeister Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 When you have a correct decorated movement and true 18k solid gold case this is like comparing apples and oranges. That price on the FM is an excellent price.
Corgi Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 When you have a correct decorated movement and true 18k solid gold case this is like comparing apples and oranges. That price on the FM is an excellent price. Except most of these are not true, solid 18K gold but rather solid 8-10K gold plated with 18K gold.
RLudlowe Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 Is this the most expensive rep ever ??? I've seen Rolex Datejust reps with solid gold cases for $3,000+ At that point you're not paying for the rep but the gold
rkdk Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 anybody know hw these curvex cases fit? They look quite small. Im quite tempet by this one, but im a big guy, so i dont know if i can pull it off.
jfreeman420 Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 I paid about $2,200 for a solid 14k gold Rolex president rep several years ago. Now they are upwards of $4k. I ended up selling it for a mere $1,500. Wish I still had it. On the upside several months later I picked up a gen day date for $3,800 and sold that one for $6,000. Wish I still had that one too. How I miss some of my watches.
alt.watch.obsessive Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 Here's the cheapo version. Asian FM Casablanca from Josh with a beat up $15 gen Sunset dial. Not too bad for $140 out of pocket, even if it is "SWISS MAI" LOL. If only it had better hands. The gold version is super sharp, and I agree a fair value. I wish I had jumped at Eddie's group buy way back when.
