LegendofSpeed Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 What do you guys think of this case.... it has the T crown and V CG on it at the moment... notice the double screws...my set of dials is on its way so it's just a matter of deciding between then 201 and 202...
V Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 What do you guys think of this case.... it has the T crown and V CG on it at the moment... notice the double screws...my set of dials is on its way so it's just a matter of deciding between then 201 and 202... in this photo it shows that it has that 'strap curve' where the strap meets the case that the pre-vs didnt have...
fishgodeep Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 Bar "strap curve" it looks good IMHO...! Loving the 2 screws .....and 201/A it has to be ..!! Best FGD
fishgodeep Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Dsn is your friend... why don't you ask him? DSN advises "These are the standard rep case only, thus there is lug slopes. oem (his custom?) case i do not make any more." One bit of good news anyway ...DSN custom case with it's troublesome CG screws is history. Regards FGD
arminvanbuuren Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 (edited) what about his casings for the 203a.. is it any good you think? or it's not even close? <-- no barlugs slope ;D Edited September 26, 2008 by arminvanbuuren
bwhitesox Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 Allright my turn...Firstly sorry for the crappy photo but this is the case I am thinking of using...Any good.??
V Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 Allright my turn...Firstly sorry for the crappy photo but this is the case I am thinking of using...Any good.?? No... not good for PRe-V
fishgodeep Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 250304057044 on the bay Can't see enough from the photos but doesn't look to have a strap slope and lugs appear shorter For the price maybe worth a punt ....surely can't be that bad for $40!! FGD
kye_lin Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 Actually.. if you look carefully... I think there is a strap slope.... shallow one... and the lugs look thinner... I might be wrong....
StormTooper4 Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 Guys Help a man out please Which one should the 5218- 207a be? TOP MIDDLE BOTTOM Cheers ST4
rmcsherry Posted October 7, 2008 Author Report Posted October 7, 2008 middle... I'd agree with Kye - although watch out if you intend to use Pre-V double screws, the screw diameter looks larger than the top one (Pre-V = 1.6mm), so it may not look as good if you go down that route! Nice short / square lugs though, where's it from?

Nice short / square lugs though, where's it from? Thanks Kye and Rmc, I thought you might say that. RMC, Dude your eyes are good. I've just checked out the screws and you are right, they are too small for the middle case. I don't think they would fall out but I'm not sure I want to drill the other side just incase, I stuff it up, so I will use the bottom case me thinks. Has anyone used the 1.6mm Pre V's in a 1.8mm hole? Are they safe in there? I got it in a bum deal from iOffer, original thread here Blue SlyTech I would not go near that dealer, trust me he's a dog. Thanks again ST4
briank996 Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 Looking for a perfect pre-v case myself. Down for a group buy, would pay $200
sattop Posted October 8, 2008 Report Posted October 8, 2008 I just received this exact case.... it's actually not tooo bad for $40. Its probably not correct for a Pre-V since it does have the notch for the strap, but it'll be good for other models. I finally got a DSN dial to fit without having to trim/shave the dial. Overall the case looks good, only draw back is that it has a glass crystal. CG looks nice and polished, and the crown looks to be a copy of DSNs crowns (looks real close) and its SPRING LOADED!! The caseback is unbranded... not as well made as the JimmyzFu casebacks though. 250304057044 on the bay Can't see enough from the photos but doesn't look to have a strap slope and lugs appear shorter For the price maybe worth a punt ....surely can't be that bad for $40!! Would you mind posting a photo from the side of the case, showing the lug shape / size and case curvature? The strap notch isn't a big deal, nobody would notice it on your wrist.

rmcsherry Posted October 8, 2008 Author Report Posted October 8, 2008 Ross it doesnt look like a pre-v case to me even from this angle. You're right - the lugs do look very long / curved compared to some cases. The hunt continues...
bwhitesox Posted October 10, 2008 Report Posted October 10, 2008 I bought this case off a fellow Repgeek member and we both think it looks pretty good. Came from an ioffer seller and is going to be the one that I'm going to use...Not perfect of course but passable. Opinions on this one.??
