Pugwash Posted July 27, 2006 Report Posted July 27, 2006 Nobody else going to step up to the plate here?? It's going to be a terrible pun, isn't it.
KB Posted July 27, 2006 Report Posted July 27, 2006 About................as pencils had not been invented yet, he had to work it out with a stick No? thought not Ken
Pugwash Posted July 27, 2006 Report Posted July 27, 2006 Trust me, this is a truly horrible pun. I can't think of anything, especially not in a British accent.
Pugwash Posted July 27, 2006 Report Posted July 27, 2006 "Because we're Adders... we need logs to multiply" Yay! I was right!
cornerstone Posted July 28, 2006 Author Report Posted July 28, 2006 Good to see that the foot-stepping kept you all going for ten minutes as opposed to the usual two! It's Friday.....here's something easy. If a wheel has 64 spokes, how many spaces are there between the spokes?
cornerstone Posted July 28, 2006 Author Report Posted July 28, 2006 64 WINNER!!! And, of course, it's a bit like asking how many gaps there are between the hour markers on a watch. Captain Frank was out for a walk when it started to rain. He did not have an umbrella and he wasn't wearing a hat. His clothes were soaked, yet not a hair on his head got wet. How could this happen?
cornerstone Posted July 28, 2006 Author Report Posted July 28, 2006 Bald as a babies bum Ken Yes! [This is for Australia, where there are no quarters] Professor Quantum has two coins which total 30 cents. Since one of the coins is not 10 cents, what are the two coins?
Pugwash Posted July 28, 2006 Report Posted July 28, 2006 [This is for Australia, where there are no quarters] Professor Quantum has two coins which total 30 cents. Since one of the coins is not 10 cents, what are the two coins? 5 and 25? 5 and 25? No, that's just silly. The other coin is a 10, and that neams a 10 and a 20. that neams That MEANS.
KB Posted July 28, 2006 Report Posted July 28, 2006 Correct one of the coins is not a 10 cent piece, it's a 20 cent piece..................but the other coin is 10c Ken
cornerstone Posted July 28, 2006 Author Report Posted July 28, 2006 That's right Puggy - I knew what you neamt anyway! And I think Ken explained it better than the card did! There are lots of similar puzzles to this, but worth a whirl once I reckon.... Sam was taking a holiday break on BIN Island, an island where the girls are often sans underwear, the natives always lie, and the visitors always tell the truth He was strolling along the beach one day when he approached two ladies tanning themselves. One of the ladies got up and said, "I'm Sue and this is my friend Dolly." One of the ladies was a native and the other a visitor. After her introduction Sue said to Sam, "one of us is a native." Which one is a native and which one is a visitor?

KB Posted July 28, 2006 Report Posted July 28, 2006 Actually I think Sue is the visitor because she told the truth. Ken
cornerstone Posted July 28, 2006 Author Report Posted July 28, 2006 (edited) Sue is naked so she is the native one. I have no idea how this works.......but I like it! Actually I think Sue is the visitor because she told the truth. Ken Yes Sue is the visitor because she told the truth about there being one native. You win an extra special prize for getting this right : click here: Australian competition with strikingly similar question They don't actually say what the prize is....but if you're lucky it might be more junk mail!! This should be a quick 'un: What occurs once in every minute, twice in every moment, yet never in a thousand years? Edited July 28, 2006 by cornerstone

cornerstone Posted July 28, 2006 Author Report Posted July 28, 2006 M He wins again!! A tree doubled in height each year until it reached its maximum height over the course of ten years. How many years did it take for the tree to reach half its maximum height?
Guest overboosted Posted July 28, 2006 Report Posted July 28, 2006 sorry for the hijack but.................. The Dahm triplets are hot. In appreciation for their hotness Hugh Hefner gave each of them a Patek Philipe watch (not perpetual calenders). Then the trouble began. While Nicole's watch kept perfect time, Erica's lost a minute a day and Jaclyn's gained a minute a day. Must be reps. If the girls set their watches to the correct time at noon the day they received them and never reset them after that, how many days would pass before the three watches would again all show the correct time at noon?
