Watchmeister Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 In the ever changing (and ever increasing cost) of high-end Rolexes I pulled one of my oldies out of the Watch box and sent it up North for some clean up. I am ecstatic with the results and thought I would share them with everyone. Here is a 5512 originally from Falco a couple of years ago with slow beat, Gen dial, crown, crystal, insert, pins, bracelet and improved case work. I am not a true Rolex guy as I tend to wear larger watches but it came back so nicely it will definitely get wrist time. And the obligatory wrist shot:
lazarini Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 <looking gooood... its a classic in any sense of the word, wear it well! regards laz
pollux1 Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 Those classic Rollies age so well, wear it in good health!
Virgil Hilts Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 Damn, Kruz, I have a gen and that's really, really close. Be pretty hard-pressed to tell the difference. Here's mine. It's a '61, sadly with the same factory replacement dial. Still trying to find the ever-elusive gen gloss gilt original dial for under two grand.
Watchmeister Posted February 25, 2009 Author Report Posted February 25, 2009 Thanks for the comments guys. See, us ignorant about Rollie guys with a little help from you Rolex experts and a little Ziggy magic can end up with some fairly nice stuff. Virgil- Good to see you hanging out.
Stephane Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 Wow, Kruzer, this is a fantastic piece. With so many gen parts it would have been a shame to let it sit in a box. Good move to have send it to Ziggy. Enjoy it.
Nanuq Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 Very nice! Ask Dluddy about his gilt meters-first dial.
dluddy Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 A beauty Kruz. Falco knew how to build them...Ziggy knows how to finish them off
dieselpower Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 Fantastic vintage sub, a real gem wear it well.
