  2. If the stem is broken, you need to disassemble the movement from the case and you should be able to remove it with tweezers. Then you should measure the diameter of the tube and replace the crown with the correct one. Usually the tube should be 2.6mm. You should also buy a new stem that is compatible with the movement. If it is a replica I suggest you look at this: https://it.aliexpress.com/item/1005005067688765.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.6a0018fcvObLCz&mp=1&pdp_npi=5%40dis!EUR!EUR 22.04!EUR 14.99!!EUR 14.99!!!%40211b612517457928652455867eb7b5!12000031510379727!ct!IT!716523293!!1!0&gatewayAdapt=glo2ita

  4. Bulova 14K gold automatic from 1953 (L3). Bought December 12, 1996 for $100, had the dial refinished about 20 years ago plus c/o, crystal, and crown around the same time. The autowind assembly was famous for not being very efficient so this movement was only made 1952-1954. Never wore it much at all but it still runs Ok...if you hand wind it. Back then...it cost $39 to have the dial refinished including return postage. Buckle is also 14K and the scrap gold to make the buckle was about $35 or $40 (pawn shop price) plus casting supplies = about $50. The dial company is gone now and gold watch prices have gone up since then. A little bit. Gold closed at $368 end of December 1996. April 25, 2025 it was $3348. Jimmythree is automatico.

It may be parallax effect, but the II markers at 12 look wider at the bottom/narrower at the top. Honestly, though being a rep, not much you can do. Its probably fine.

  9. @Tribal quick question I have 1655 case that i converted to a 1675 and I wonder if a seiko NH 34 movement will actually fit the case. do you happen to know that. I was going to use a ETA 2893-2. but I think that it needs modification to raise the hand a bit away from the dial. thanks
  10. Hello, My son who wears this one lost the crown. don't ask how, I made myself the same question. I think he left it open and and bumped into something and broke the stem. I have no been able to find one similar on ebay and even not sure how to pull the tube out. i guess is hold by friction?

So it’s been a bit since I ordered a rep - this one looks good to me, but want to hear what others say. IMG_9312.mp4

  13. It depends on how they are shipping. Direct, or through a distribution hub, and what is claimed. I believe after May 3rd, the de minimus exception goes away and you pay a duty/tarriff with the current % or MINUMUM $75. No one is really talking about the impact of de minimus going away. If I understand it correctly, a $10 Watch Part from China automatically becomes $95.00. Those $5 Temu T-Shirts = $80... How the hell the postal services and delivery carries will collect these en masse is anyones guess.
  14. If you are talking about replica watches, tariffs are not relevant because replicas are contraband (ie, illegal). In the case of gen watches, tariffs would definitely affect anything legally imported into the US (eg, gen watches).
  15. any one sold watch to us? do you know buyer need pay tax or not ? or the tariff policies just a smoke?
  16. Yeah I know, but 7753 have different subdial spacing from vj72 vj72 have same @3 and @9 while 7750 have all different. i can’t use my vj72 dial on the v7750… or its somehow possible??
  17. These are for ETA-7753 or 7753 clone like SW-5xx. I remove the Auto Winding mechanism and you get the same "experience" as VJ72. Here is the movement 7753 Clone. DW also sold a reduced height caseback for these. Once you remove the Auto-Wind mechanism, it SLIMS down to Gen'ish height. https://www.ebay.com/itm/156849873115 Also, ST-19 makes the WORST Daytona reps. The 12hr subdial is not a totalizer, but just follows the Hour Hand. You can choose to "FREEZE" the 12 hr hand but not worth it. The Subdial spacing is also too WIDE IIRC>
  18. Have they the same subdial position and spacing of the vj23 or st19?
  19. I have 7750 converted dials from DW: 1. Eric Clapton 2. Neuman Panda 3. Neuman Reverse Panda 4. Silver Panda 😀
  20. It’s very difficult to find a vintage Daytona dial for 7750… sellers have only for vj72 (or st19 to adapt)
  21. Most will try and talk you out of it. It would cost a minimum of $150 from the most generous watchmaker in labor. Your best bet is to find a "Working" donor watch with the same movement and just R&R it yourself, or by a modder/friend, or ultimately a real watchmaker IF they would do it.
  22. I have only worked on 2-3 Timex watches, so I am not an authority, but they are simply made & I believe the M24 was a fairly common Timex movement that likely shares parts with other movements. I do not have a parts listing, so I cannot verify the correct mainspring for your movement or how available that & other commonly replaceable parts are. In most cases, as long as your movement is complete (ie, not missing any parts), any watchmaker should be able to overhaul it, which will either put it into functional condition or give you an idea of what part or parts need to be replaced to get it there. That way you have a specific goal, rather than just a general assumption that parts are difficult to source. I would begin by checking with a local watchmaker to see if they can assist you. Otherwise, post a request for help in Timezone's Watchmaking forum. You might contact this seller to see if they have the mainspring you need. Worst case, you can always get a generic mainspring to replace a worn 1. Either have a watchmaker handle the work, or, if you have some watchmaking skills, remove your spring from its barrel, measure the length, width & thickness of your spring & look for a match (with similar ends/fittings) on any of the watch parts houses like ofrei, cousins, esslinger, etc.
  23. +1 Pictures are hard to go by. Can you also send picks of endlink engravings and link screw heads? It is defintly post-1972. And a "G" Code places it 1982. It has requisite "stretch" it appears. Is the watch a 1982?
