  5. Like most people here I hated how the standard rep dials look. I remember one of the first vintage rep watches I bought had a horrible orange lume and wanted to learn how to fix it. I started off the hard way, learning and experimenting, even buying numerous dials just to relume. Some may remember some of my earliest work and how it has progressed. To me reluming is very enjoyable, it is like creating a piece of art: Since I've had a few people asking for some photos I thought I would share some of my work Here is one I did last week for a member:

  6. Went to pick up the post from work today and one little package made me very happy:- Couldn't wait to get home and see what was inside - Christmas time! Opening the outer plastic postal envelope revealed two TC 2824 movements:- And a cardboard box:- A very clever little box, specially made to hold a watch shaped object with reinforcing cardboard square in the middle:- The box contained an airtight, sealed, foil pack:- Opening that revealed a bubble wrapped (again, heat seam sealed) foam package:- Opening that allowed me to get my first glance of the YM! Everything plastic coated, the watch mounted onto both halves of the bracelet with the clasp in a separate envelope (of course, in its own foam sandwich) Lastly a quick wristie (apologies for the poor photo quality) Love it, crown and tube thread is lovely, winding is lovely, date change is instant, bracelet and clasp are lovely. The hinge in the middle of the two parts of the clasp is a bit stiff but isn't any bother at all. Putting the clasp on is just a matter of one link screw and one pin. Something tells me this'll be a wearer for quite a while to come!

  8. It looks like email notification is not working properly, anyone busy will rely on this to keep them up to date with any threads, especially sales threads. It'd be helpful if we can get the problems with that system ironed out? (After sorting out forum payments of course)

  11. Pretty apparent that watch isn't going to fool anyone that has any knowledge of the GMT IIc's. you can see the flaws really well with the side by side. Blue is way too bright, but the numbers engraved in the insert are a real tell from afar. If it were me, I would wait on this model for a while, hoping the manufacturers fixed a few of the really bad. Mistakes.

  12. AP Diver V3 may be the best rep of all time Other notable great recent reps Pam 243 noob v2 Pam 111 noob v3 Pam 029 noob v2 JLC Navy Seals Diver There has been some huge improvements lately but also additional challenges Pros: genuine superlume now being used by rep factories in many but not all cases, much better ar, finer details 10x better Cons: recent crackdowns have changed things. Some watches stay back ordered for months, some dealers are not selling certain watches/factories, pricing is going up You can no longer pick your dealer and then pick your watch You have to pick your watch down to whet actual factory makes it than choose a dealer that may best for that watch Anything noob factory angus and toro seem to be best connected Anything h factory josh and Andrew seem to be the best connected

  13. Nice review, but I'm pretty certain this in an attempt at replicating the Professional Moonwatch and not the "Reduced." Despite, the subdial spacing (which the Venus/Lemania can't get right for the Professional), everything else indicates this is a Professional Moonwatch replica. Most notably, the word "Professional" on the dial (instead of automatic), the stick hour markers and 3-9 subdial markings are much closer to the professional. All of these are different, or absent, on the "reduced" version. Professional Moonwatch Reduced Moonwatch Seems they could make a reasonable replica of the "reduced" version - yet probably do not b/c of it's reasonable price point. The killer for me has always been the display back. While many variations existed, I'd sure love to hide that obviously incorrect movement.
