  1. I would like to say a big thanks and highly recommend Ssteel for sorting out my watch in quick time. As some of you would of read 2 weeks ago I had a bit of an emergency. When trying to change a crown I totally ballsed up the keyless works . I contacted Ssteel as i read he sorted these things. He said no problem so off it went . He sorted it out for me very quickly i think ( under 2 weeks including Uk-finland and back again) and at a reasonable price. Kept me in touch every day with photos and e-mails and even reset my cyclops for free. So if your in UK or EU and need your watches sorted give him a PM. He's a very nice person to deal with Thanks again SSTEEL CD

  2. Just hope that tech progress allows us to behold our dear mechanical ones and doesn´t oblige us for whatever reason to wear those in the future (like those who said they would never use/own a handy..) - there´s still the 2-wrist solution however:)

  5. I use heavy duty green Scotch-Brite scour pads from the grocery store, aka 'pot scrubbers'. Just be sure to rub the pad straight across the bracelet to make an even grain and keep the pads away from crystals, inserts etc. Also have a buff wheel similar to the 6085 above on a 1/2 hp 1725 rpm electric motor for rough bracelets etc. A buff wheel on an electric motor is the way to go if you do a lot of refinishing. I get buff wheels at a machine tool supply store for about one fourth the Bergeon price. They are used to remove rust from sheet metal and come in different grades. Bergeon is Swahili for 'your money is gone'.

  6. It is nice, your insert looks better than mine. I am planning to put a gen insert to it to make it looks even better.

  8. I second this! I had the change to drive the Tesla Model S P85. It is amazing. The design from inside and outside is perfect. It's so freaking fast! Oh and the key is just awesome, here some pictures from the carkey:

  11. IMO, go with a classic. Stainless Diver V6, Panda, Safari or 2014 Black Themes. But sticking with one AP is tough. Just ask around

  13. I found the strap having good quality in comparison to previous AP reps, unfortunately it started to break relatively early so I had to switch to my rubber strap.. I personally would not buy the gen strap if the ordinary one does the job! The 700$ is worth it if you could spend that type of money ol a rep knowing anything couls happen to it.. If you have the Hublot diver then in my opinion go for the BB! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. Yes you will become addicted! Especially with the quality noob is putting out! I own this piece myself and it passes for gen on a reg. When I tell people its a rep they say no way and where can I buy it. Welcome to the club my friend. Enjoy to the Max!

  15. Hi and welcome. The vintage Daytonas are quite fine and specially reliable reps. The handwound movement is nothing to put You off, its even real fun to have it that way. The modern looking Daytona is one of the most desirable but also the most unreliable rep You can buy. It´s much too thick and anyone will notice that if he´s ever seen a gen. The movement is not made for supporting the constantly running seconds at six (missing jewels despite the publicity) so it puts a lot of strain and wear on the movement itself. It´s a question of time (a few hours, a few weeks....) until it breaks down (or is worn out). The watch will not run any more at all and is just an expensive paperweight. The only somewhat successful solution is to just wear it for a few hours a week and than stop it as soon it´s off the wrist. For someone new, there are too many things to look at in a first qc-picture session from misaligned engravings to wrong positioned markers and non-resetting to 12 subdials and main hands. Another Rolex is a better and more reliable choice You will be able to enjoy for a long time. The advice would be to get another one first so You have a running watch. Than later, if You still decide to risk it, get it, when it breaks You already have another watch.

  16. This was also my first rep and I went with Toro too. I was actually amazed at how well made these watches are, they're almost perfect. Very nice choice and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

  18. The best bet for the daytona is older Zenith reps. There wasn't an engraving and the reps are more mature. At the end of the day, nobody does a real great job on the engraving. It's just one of the tells you need to deal with. It's a relatively small one compared to the others.

  19. i would never rely on the rehaut to be perfectly aligned all around. it happens sometimes but its rarely fully aligned. your better bet would be to get a vintage model where there is no engraved rehaut. i personally think daytona looked waaaay better back in the day. the vintage models also come in seagull ST19 hand wind movement which imo is 1000x better than a A7750. if youre dead set on a modern tona though, youll just have to toss the dice and see how it turns out. no TD is gonna reject the watch based on the rehaut not being perfect. good luck

  20. the part you are referring to as the bezel is the rehaut. the bezel runs around the crystal on the outside. now if you are referring to the rolexrolex text depending on model, both will have. contact seller to provide qc photos prior to buying to make sure they are lined up. but if you are looking for the overwhelming flaw to this generation of Daytona it would be its thickness. now that being said the difference between the kurvasit model and the one from puretime, because of price is probably the version and movement inside. ideally you'd want a chrono movement and at this point means a 775x based movement. this version will be thicker. there is a slimmer model available, but this does not have any chrono function, significantly less in price, but more correct in general appearance. good luck and welcome to the forum.
