  1. Yes, just noticed that before I was going to place my order for a toro bravo cg for my Pre-A 002 project. Pics below show a gen and you can clearly see the flat top of the cg which is very thin compared to the bottom: Side: Here is a pic of the case back (gen). BTW: I would appreciate it if you could tell me a source for a pre-A 002 case back. Many thanks
  2. Lani, do you think the DW he is offering HERE will fit an ETA 2836/ 2824 movement? I am looking for a DW with flat 3 for my MBW 1680 to get it finished.

    PAM305

Hi gang, does anybody know if one of the new PAM models (no cyclops) will be released as reps soon? Especially the PAM305 is my favourite Here's the gen:
  4. I think the model offered by Mary is a good base to mod because of the right position of the he valve. But as I already own a limited BOND 007 ref. 2537.80.00 I don't want to go for another blue face watch. I am considering to buy Mary's closed case SMP to transform it into a 2254.50.00 with black dial. But I don't know if the gen bezel will fit and furthermore I will need a gen dial and hand set which means at least 250 bucks extra.... Probably I better should go for a gen 2254.50.00 because these models will discontinue and surely become nice collector's items
  5. Good advice, thanks a lot. I can vote for Mary who is the person behind watch international. She is taking care of her customers and always replying quickly your PMs. There was a never ending story due to my UPO case back but she was patient and always tried to help me out. BTW: Will a genuine bezel from ref. 2254.50 (diver 300M) fit the case of that watch Mary has on offer?
  6. Hi there, first I want to point out, that I did a lot of homework, asked dealers and placed an ad in the WTB corner but unfortunately no success yet. I am in need for an UPO case back for the 45,5mm model. Mine is from an early batch with swiss ETA 2824-2 and came with a bad case back (I posted that years ago here and over on RWI or RG, don't remember). My case back is bad because there is no noticable waffle pattern around the seamonster and it is more matte than polished . Some members offered case backs to me as well as some dealers but the threads didn't match my case although all of them are called UPO. There must be a huge number of makers and it seems that the case/ case backs are different just by a mm. So please allow to call for a case back here in this section. BTW: I don't want to swap the whole case because a gen tube and crown is installed and it has got chief's ar. I am needing one with a thread diamter of exactly 35,77 mm as you can see from the pic below. I am looking for en excellent waffle texture well polished. Any offer is much appreciated Pic:
  7. Would you mind to send me a link? You can also pm me. Thanks!
  8. Hi there, i am considering a PAM111H project and the only thing missing is a proper dial with decent printings. Many of the H dials come with printings below 6 which are way too bold or too broad or too close to the 6. Is there a source for a dial which comes closer to the real deal? I would be happy for an input
  9. Hey ubi, much appreciated! So I am going to order the dials and start the work
  10. I am planning to mod two Omega reps with genuine parts: 300M Diver and a Bond both with ETA 2824/ 2836. I found the dials I need at Ofrei's. Is the swap easy or must the feed position be changed? What's about the date window? Will it match the ETA? Thanks for your help.
  11. Wow! Good news. Please count me in for two
  12. Hi, as I already posted in my PAM050 thread and in Toad's PAM239 thread I am going to mod my PAM050 and my PAM239. I have got to elder lenses in stock from chief and from the watchmen. I have been told that probably some improved lenses with stronger magnification would be in the market? I would be happy for any input. As well I would appreciate it if you could help me out with a source for left hand DWs with bold font white on black for 7750 movements.
  13. Toad, the PO crystal is ar coated already. I am not sure if the mag can be glued on to the ar coating. As far as I know the left over glue is to be removed with acetone which could damage the ar coating? I already sent a few inquiries to several watch guys. Let's cross our fingers.
  14. Hi Toad, I just noticed your thread. I am going to mod my 239 at this time. I already owned one which has been serviced and re-lumed by The Zigmeister as well. I gave it to a friend of mine a long time ago and indeed I did regret that very quickly. By chance I could get another unworn one. I disassembled the watch for a crystal experiment. The rep comes with an embedded lens with a bad magnification. The embedded lens means no chance for a lens swap. SO I took a sapphire crystal form an older PO version (V2?) which has got exactly the same diameter as the rep crystal of my 239. I installed the PO crystal to the case provisionally just to see if it would fit or not. The PO crystal is not that thick as the 239 crystal but it looks very nice and it does make almost no distortion as you can see from the pics. Furthermore it is lining up with the bezel’s edge properly. Now I am looking for a matching lens to solve that magnification. Does anybody has got a nice mag in stock? I think I will need 6mm in diameter? I also tried to find a left handed DW with bolt font but I am afraid I will have to stay with the rep DW as there is no offer yet. Pics:
  15. Thanks for your input. I bought my watch years ago. IMO it was the first batch of PAM050 reps and I never swapped the DW. Funny that I purchased this from Paul/ Pam111/ watchmart or however he used to call his enterprise until it was down and came back with a new website I will see how takashi's DW is. Should arrive within the next week. If the printing is sharper I will do the swap. May I ask you where your lens came from. I guess I would be fine with that magnification as well. Due to the C series: Did the gen watches came with ar?
  16. May I ask you for a contact or link? I am just planning to build up a PAM050 and would be happy for a good cg. Thanks!
  17. Look, I have got all parts I need and a better printed DW (takashi) is already on its way to my place. And the dial and hand set is already re-lumed by The Zigmeister so I wouldn't save money by ordering a new rep I guess.
  18. Great review, gio, thanks so much! A happy new year to you, too. Last year my AD presented that watch to me. A bit earlier a friend of mine showed the rep to me freshly purchased by silix. To be honest I was a bit disapointed by the gen's quality considering the rep's quality and -indeed- the price of the gen.
  19. My 316F is aleady ordered for late January. But I like the ETA movement better for its reliability compared to that 3135 clone. With a correct bezel insert that 316F DSSD must look quite close as well as it will a reliable tool watch .
  20. Hi, I just dug some old school PAM50 parts out of my junk box and want to build up a PAM50 C series. I have a few questions to the forum and would be happy for your thoughts. 1) Dial and hands have been re-lumed by Rob two or three years ago. So I want to stay with that set. But is the printing below 6 correct for C series? 2) The rep DW shows a quite bolt font as you can see from the pic below. I already ordered a takashi DW for 7750 but I am not sure if this will make a big difference. 3) Here is a pic of the mag. Not a big improvement compared to the pic above. What do you think? Probably I should go for a lens swap. I have two lenses in stock with different diameters. As far as I know one is from the watchmen the other
  21. Great job, lani! I am after a DSSD again since I sold my V3. But I've got a basic question. Confused by all that discussion of the DSSD (ultimate, latest, V-somewhat, 3135 etc.) I think it is recommended to go for the 316F steel version but with ETA movement. Plus a correct insert it should be very close to the real deal. What do you think?
  22. I am in for my 1680 with ETA 2836-2: I'll take one disc 0.07mm thick, "flat top 3", in silver
  23. I can second this At least a paint/ coating which is more scratch resistant than the current case backs would be nice.
  24. Hi, I am planning to purchase a DSSD with 'swiss' ETA to transform it into a neutral diver's watch. I like the DSSD style very much but wont read more figures on my watch as in my daily newspaper... I already have choosen some MkII watch parts which I like very much (dial, hand set and DW). My questions: What diametre does the DSSD's dial have (V3 up to the current version)? What's about the engraved inner ring (ring lock system etc. blabla )? Can this be removed to get the engravings grinded out or can this probably just be turned around? I am happy for your help, can't wait to start a new project! I am going to post separately in the Want To Buy area for a used DSSD and would be happy for an offer!
