  1. There is no "service" options with Breitling. Anytime your watch goes to them for ANY reason, it gets cleaned and polished. So if your movement needs a overhaul, your watch will get the works from Breitling. I had a 3 month old SOSF that was running out of COSC spec. Had it sent to Breitling, came back 2 weeks later running like a top and had been freshly cleaned & polished like it was new. Also got a nice Breitling logoed travel case and polishing cloth! Breitlings service is amazing. I suggest taking the watch to your AD and let them send it to Breilting. If you purchased it from them, they will more then likely wave the $50 shipping fee (Cost for shipping w/ insurance to BUSA).
  2. About the best I could do getting to match the angle of your photo. I aligned the center of the hands then dialed in the chronos as best I could. As you can see, your DW is much closed to center then the 7753. I would be interested in the Gen. Dial you have available if you can not use it. PM me. Thanks.
  3. Anyone got a straight on shot of a Pam250 with A7750 they can post here. I have one of my 7753, I was thinking could be overlaid in made transparent in PhotoShop to show the DW location differences.
  4. No link? If you are hung up on getting a Gen strap or bracelet, the only place to get one is an Breitling AD (Authorized Dealer). Here are the retail prices: Crocodile on Deployment - $780 Leather on Deployment - $400 Lizard on Deployment - $500 Bracelet - $1400.
  5. Nice Mickey! These new Carreras are causing me to regain interest in Tag again.
  6. Right from Watch TIme mag, 2008 Stats. The numbers are staggering! 555,300,000 watches exported form China. 26,100,000 watches exported form Switzerland
  7. Sixx picked up my B&M. Beautiful piece, jut not my style! Glad he is enjoying it though!
  8. Really tough decision. One could argue that you have the experience of the journey and the thought of your friend. One could also say, he wanted you to have the watch to show his gratitude for all your efforts. You friend could have saw the gift as a connection between you and him. I would keep it for the fact that through the process of effort and time you will get additional funds to feed the addiction. You can never get some thing again from someone you have lost no matter the amount of time or effort you exhaust. You may just one day realize you want the watch back if you sold it. At the end of the day, the decision is really yours, regardless of what others think, right or wrong, it is your decision and no one should tell you made the wrong one.
  9. I can test it, if someone has one to donate but it is going to get destroyed in the process.
  10. Potentially yes. The entire case could be riddled with carbon inclusions. Just know way of knowing unless you slice into it and take a look at the cross section of the centered-cubic structure. There could be all kind of garbage in there, like Fakemaster said, rusting that when removed never returns. Lower grades of stainless steel can actually rust and corrode.
  11. Should be a straight change over. Uncase movement, remove hands, pull dial feet, remove dial, install new dial and reverse.
  12. Was thinking the same thing, however was pondering where I could obtain the right Ti stock. I have a few drivers around I can sacrifice! Thanks A!
  13. It actually may not be the difference in material types as it is more then likely is large saturation of carbon inclusions in areas. Just happens to be in the areas you are working on. This is due to poor QC again, relative to manufacturing of the raw material ingots as well the watch components. Operations such as forging (how they make cases) can further compress the inclusions into localized areas. Think of it as drilling through a piece of wood and you hit a knot.
  14. Other then the slight difference in look, Rolex moving to 904L is pure marketing. 904L is still a Austenitic grade stainless like 316L, however it has the addition of molybdenum and copper added with ferric carbide (carbon in iron) to greatly increase corrosion resistance. 904L is used extensively in the chemical industry. So you should rest assured that if one day you fall into a vat of chloride or sulfuric acid, your Gen Rollie will be unharmed! As for you
  15. Let me know if you hear from him. I have e-mailed him a few times and not heard anything back since his initial reply that he could do my 250 dial. I know he is a busy man.
  16. +1 But don't hold your breath waiting for this day to come. I have been to a couple automotive manufacturing plants over in China. QC could be cared less about. Google....Florida, China Drywall. What a mess!
  17. Have fun with this one man! I just went through this a year ago with my wife. She is from Poland and is the only one in her family that speaks English. Had to make arrangements at 3 airports to make sure they got transferred to the correct flights, taken through customs, etc. Pain in the a$$, but well worth it at the end of the day! Congrats on your engagement!
  18. Gotcha. The 3rd one you posted is the white dial, way too light is color to the Rhodium. The first link you posted was the grey dial, which is supposed to rep. the Rhodium dial of the Gen. The subdials on the grey are too dark when compared to the sub-dials on the Gen. Gen Rodium Dial
  19. Yep, found this out when I got mine, 12 hour! Big disappointment! Still serves the purpose of a second time zone though. Looks great on your Seawolf!
  20. I can not find anything. Sub-dial color on the Rhodium dial is too dark to the gen.
  21. Check in our collectors area. The only ones I have seen are chronos with quartz movements and a couple 3-hand asian powered automatics like the V6. BRM right now is really not a big brand to the market like Rolex, Omega, Breitling, Hublot, etc. Of course this could all change with time.
