  1. VERY NICE. that pearl looks odd tho...
  2. the problem is trimming those PVD'd crown gaurds
  3. YAY to maxi dial YAY to finding more pics of the original summertime blue (still 16610?) the picture in the first post looked like a rep to me! NICE pics freddy
  4. i like the effect of the aging, you might want to correct the crooked dial tho, put in a slow beat movement, pop the pearl out OR age it, and beat up the crown gaurds and crown to match the case more. welcome aboard
  5. 1 is WM9 2 is a noobmariner hybrid of sorts? 3 is noob as well? arrrrgh. they're getting too good
  6. On my Sub when I screw down the crown its final posistion is almost upside down. This looks odd to me. I have seen gens with the final screw down posistion like this as well, but was wondering what could i do to align it more anatropous. I have spare crown stems for the movement if it involves cutting new ones. thanks
  7. I like the touch of color with the red tipped counter hand
  8. well he's always up to something to make any release better : ) so i error on the side of anything that passes through him
  9. the new WM9V2 ones by BK look best to my eyes
  10. So I have an MBK case and a genuine ETA 2836-2. I'm trying to source a movement holder-ring so it doesnt move about the case. I have one that was for a clone eta and the inside diameter is too wide by about a fraction of a mm and the movement moves about. Anyone know a good place to get a simple piece of brass so I can finish this thing finally? One more thing. Anyone know what the crown stem length should be from tip to tip(minus the crown on) on an eta stem going into a 2836-2 and an MBK case made for a modern sub(euromariner case tube) thanks
  11. somal quoted me $90 for the far east 2836 I bought a gen ETA from the bay instead in a best offer submission for $70 US it even has the incabloc shock instead of the novodiac and a black date wheel with white print... Rotor is missing but luckily I have a spare. Seller may have a nickle 2836 for sale, pm me for details if interested
  12. change the insert (numbers are too fat) and pearl 100%. engraving personally bothers me on the noobmariner because the rehaut is not deep enough. as does the laser etched crown on any noob model (which is more of a tell than NOT having one), cause it's simply too large and the biggest tell after you do the most basic mods. the dial in the noobs is from a 2002-2004 model, and if your bracelet has the model no. engraved at the end links (which yours does) it's incorrect for the engraved rehaut year. ALL reasons WHY I dislike the engraving, and converted my noob to one with lug holes. circa 2003. AR is not standard on sub anyways. Either way im sure you'll enjoy your purchase, and I hope you do.
  13. i believe it to be gen. low grade 2836, but still gen.
  14. uhhhhh. if it is i've NEVER seen this dial on any model before.
  15. Bk is BK. the watchmaker watches are great, but i believe the BK ones are Watchmaker By BK and orders need to be placed through him on his thread here on this forum. Perhaps theyve changed this to include even the ones from WM9s site and it's no longer pre release?
  16. here's mine: I got it from eurotimez, and paid extra for the added "QC". I still had to fix some minor issues with mine tho, like a crooked dial and an unevenly pressed crystal. My next choice was Josh, then Andrew. At this time ONLY eurotimez gaurantees a GENUINE ETA. If you dont care about a genuine swiss movement and are getting the $100 range one with an Asian movement, then any of the above mentioned dealers should suffice. on mine i trimmed the CGs, changed out the pearl/insert and recessed it, added a smaller crown and fixed everything geometrically as well... regreased all the seals and pressure tested it to 40meters. Also got the high beat asian movement (4813) instead of the stock 21.6K 2813 one (sweeps nicer, a WORTH while upgrade for the extra $ IMO)which keeps time (-5)to(-12secs) depending on how active I am. Im gonna eventually drill lug holes on this one so it's an earlier F series case once i solve some alignment issues with the lug holes and springbars.
  17. the gmt movement used is a typical 21 jeweled one (591HZ 35ZUAN), at least in mine, and was about $35 alacarte, which also broke 6months later. Maybe mine wasnt lubricated well, the crown didnt pull out very well and handwinding the first few times resulted in metal filings. NOT ALL alphas carry the same GMT movements (even within the same model), so you never really know what you might find inside. There are some Alphas that have genuine Miyota movements. If you can get an alpha for under $50 delivered it's probably worth it for the movement and parts alone. But personally I wouldnt bother, as the parts used overall aren't upto par IMO.
  18. thats a NYC street rep. best to pay $110 bucks and get a noobmariner which is MILES ahead of that one.
  19. in short. Buy the rep. pay the $100more. plus it'll give you a project to work on if you ever wanted to improve it with mods and show off your work here.
  20. i hear its a piece of crap.
  21. i think THIS ONE takes the cake in that category THE ROLEX GAYTONA
  22. that's AWESOME looking, rugged sport watch. what's the retail on the gen?
