the gen insert in that picture looks too thin cmopared to todays models, also the 4 is a different font. there's SO MUCH variation between years EVEN in dials and date mags

as crappy as it sounds NO MATTER what you guys will have to learn to fix things on your reps yourself. I got a crooked dial, rust stained bracelet, insert popping out, crooked crystal and unevenly pressed. ALL of which I learned to fix myself cause i wanted it done and wanted it done correctly. as for the case back my understanding as ironic as it sounds the "POLFY, SHITNERAND" was the mark of quality and an easy way to idnetify the better built MBK watch. dont fret it, no one will ever see the engraving and if they do the jigs' un anyways from the eta movement beneath it. i had optimistic hopes with rep collecting as well when i first started, it was shattered UNTIL i fixed it myself and learned a whole new world of skill in the process

316L IS surgical steel better for marine resistance (i.e salt water) 440 is the grade used for knives to retain a better sharp edge

4813 rotor is very loud when it spins, whirring and rattling, i may try some grease on my bearings. ticking is same as ETA in my opinion. if it ticks very loudly it needs a servicing of oils, defntly if it runs very inaccurately. I can only hear my ETA at about 12" from my ear and very faintly, only if there is no other noise in the room

i know even the gen ETAs arent completely silent, other members have had success with greasing the rotor bearings with silicone grease.

my dial arrived slightly crooked as well, but fixed it by rotating it slightly in the case while still screwed to the movement. just remove the crown and stem first line up the dial and lock it down via the clamps when all's aligned. Then finally replace the stem and crown by using the push button. worked for me, hopefully it'll work for you. research a few procedures and tutorials here first, and become confident with them. look for ajoesmiths movement swap tutorial for reference and to help you. the crooked dial is the first thing i noticed. IT IS an easy fix, just proceed slowly and remember how and where everything went. maybe get a new insert with watch material pearl and youre good to go. I was kind of wondering where Chris has been at, i cant seem to get a reply from him its been maybe a week and 2 emails and i've talked with him before so I know its not a junk email problem.
