  1. my link was more for the 2008 addendum (released this October) which deals with the world bank IMF and trend of debt and borrowing money that doesnt exist. the first original zeitgeist movie (2007) i take with a grain of salt and find more entertaining than anything. BUT the addendum is quite different, NOT dealing with religion or 9/11 conspiracy.
  2. for those who HAVENT seen it, PRETTY INTERESTING STUFF a MUST watch, very entertaining as well as sickening it's not another lame quack conspiracy theory style documentary TORRENT: http://sector.yweb.sk/Zeitgeist.Addendum.DVDRip.XviD.torrent OR WATCH IT ONLINE STREAMING: http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/ Synopsis: Zeitgeist: Addendum, a 2008 documentary film produced by Peter Joseph, is a continuation of the film Zeitgeist, the Movie. The film includes theories regarding the Federal Reserve System in the United States, the CIA, corporate America and many others.
  3. i personally cant stand 21.6K movements, reminds me too much of my first cheap automatics, like a quartz on a caffine binge. 28.8 is almost silky smooth and i can ALWAYS notice a difference EVEN at a distance of 5 feet between the two. also in my experience the 21.6 is a terrible time keeper compared to the 28.8. im sure others have had better accuracy success with a 21.6 i have both the DG4813 and 2813. the 48 is fairly smooth i'd say, the same as ETA and maybe even rolex, only reason it'd be jerky compared to rolex is that their movements are regulated and have no errors. my only complaint with the 48 is that the date change takes about an hour to click over. FOR SOME REASON the 2813 i have; clicks over right at 12midnight. if the 4813 did this i wouldnt even consider eta for $150 difference, instead the 4813 is a $25 movement that is a GREAT time keeper...mine was +4 seconds out of the box, has a very smooth sweep and was cheap! if i had a vintage rollie model the 2813 would be a perfect engine. I do ponder the possibility of an accutron 214 movement (that's 2,520,000bph! vs 28,800bph)in a noob so maybe you should ignore my musings
  4. try the china town watch shops. the type that sell seiko usually have people that can do most stuff, and for cheap
  5. anyone actually know what the AD gets 'em for (@cost)?
  6. i recently tried contacting Ruby myself for an Omega Speedmaster moon, NO reply that was 5 weeks ago...even pm'd here 2 weeks ago. NO REPLY. LAST i got was a generic reply to my email inbox saying she/he was on vacation...but that was OVER 1 month ago! his/her profile says they were last seen on the 5th of Sept 08 on this board...
  7. such elegant crowns. I like the GIANT onion one!
  8. there's a current similar thread here: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...60&start=60
  9. NICE! my interpretation is the Clarks is more dome shaped, and the ofrei has a smaller bevel, correct?
  10. if you're coming from film you might feel more at home with the canon rebel, an XTi can be found for under $600 now. if point and shoot is your path panasonics have nice engines that render beautiful colors. IMO Sony look nice also, but i really dislike Sony products personally.
  11. yeah that actually sounds about right, when re reading what i wrote and picturing the watch and what materials are in it, even 3.5K is TOO much...i guess their marketing even worked on me.
  12. every AD i've been to when looking at Omegas doesnt waste any time telling me they'll knock 35% OFF the sticker. with Rolexs' price increase Omegas aren't a bad deal...especially the used stuff you can find.
  13. Point and shoots are quick and dirty, lack a viewfinder, and even if they have the viewfinder it never lines up with what youre shooting anyways. i use a point and shoot ONLY when im doing something quickly and not for display of quality purposes. at ISO800 i find point and shoots to noisey looking. look into the Canon 50D or 40D about $400 cheaper right now 15 vs 10mpx $1399canadian if you want 35mm full frame and NOT 1.6X crop look at the 5D mkII or the 5D $900 difference between mk2 and original 5D right now 12 vs 21 mpx $1800-$2700 candian anything above 10mpx on a crop sensor is pointless anything bove 12 on a full frame is also pointless at these format sizes Nikon also makes great cameras, i shoot canon and find myself very curious about their in camera processing. to me canon feels simple to use. canons are made by engineers, and nikons are engineered by photographers. both are very good Nikon D90, D300, D700, and D3 is worth looking at. (in order of price) if you buy canon: some lenses and accesories that i use: B+W uv filters vertical grip lexar or sandisk CF card 4gb or higher, CF card reader 580IIEX flash lowepro case manfrotto pods hand strap some lenses: 70-200mm 2.8 L IS (defacto standard zoom lens) 24-70mm 2.8 L (every day walk around lens) 100mm 2.8 macro (good for portrait and macro) if your budget can do it, stick to 2.8L or quicker lenses IS is a bonus
  14. you can replace the crystal with the ofrei one if the etching is too big (e.g. you can see it from 6inches away) the ofrei one has no etching, but thats better to not have one thats visible than one that is in my opinion
  15. i was going to suggest disolving the epoxy, but only if you intend to replace the gasket after anyways. my euro' had a lot of glue in there as well, but i havnt disassembled it fully yet as im still waiting for a bunch of parts to arrive first.
  16. i havnt noticed any lag on the east coast while browsing...
  17. ive found other sites using Andrews photos, but with slightly skewed claims as to what was in the product
  18. its NOT uncommon to receive a watch with the hands out of synch. ive come to expect it. i reset mine but still notice during certain hours they dont line up where they should.
  19. Thomas -i think the Z is gone...what can you do? things change. if the engraving on the rehaut is your concern you can sand it and polish it out. how does the engraving look on yours?
  20. with Chris youll get what you ordered and if there's ever a problem he'll make it right ASAP. with him it's less stress i found.
  21. i have a venus copy movement and have never found a reason to really use the chronos, but i DO run it from time to time to keep the oils well distributed, dont want anything ceasing up or hands sticking over time... this could be unnecessary but i still do it.
  22. ooo what'd you order? the seamaster chrono is looking pretty good
  23. i have a seiko diving chrono rated to 200m that has push down crowns. but logically i would imagine having something that screws shut would resist water and pressure better(?)
