  1. not bad. id go with a more period correct crown, but thats just me. did you check the HEv for leaks?
  2. the Tudor sub dial weighs in at 26mm and so does this 1680. if this is truly the case then it does indeed fit the MBK 5513 case
  3. this is news to me, but i'd love to read it!
  4. i might have a solution for all the people looking for these 580s in the future... until then a set of gen will set you back $105. worth more than its weight in gold.
  5. Clarks hands like all rep hands seem to have that one noticeable flaw with the hour hand. the perfect rep hands belong to WM9. if you cant source those, Clarks are probably the next best thing.
  6. arent these for modern models? not the 1665 as the 703 came in two varieties of style despite sharing the same model ref.
  7. buying a PT for the GW dial and movement alone are not worth the $200 first off the PT dial has nothing on an MBK GW dial. most members swap out the PT in fact for a different one due to the datewindow issue secondly 2846s arent the best movements, more often than not the ones that come in the new slow beat sub-dwellers also require servicing immediately, theres a reason there are no chrono grade 2846s and they were intentionally made for swatch watches and include plastic parts and no finishing. what i would do is buy an MBK dial (less than you think) and a different slow beat movement, even a chronometer grade one (all slow beat ETAs will require servicing by now) both of which will be less than buying the PT just for the dial and movement. dial+movement+service i bet you can get it done for $300
  8. lets take a journey through my parts box, see if i have anything. a lot of noob bracelets, a TW bracelet, a CN bracelet with solid mid links 1 wm9 bracelet (not for sale) found an insert from WO with a wm pearl installed, insert is already sanded i believe to fit the noobmariner.
  9. the MBKs come with "505b"s aside frmo the number theyre not bad really.
  10. i got a similar effect with some spilled iodine and the toaster oven. only in sharp angles is it visible. too hard for the camera sensor to pickup, so dont ask.
  11. i couldnt leave well enough alone and as sweet as it really was as a daily beater because of its inaccuracies it now sits in parts as a daily nothing. some more erotica my woman trying it on with her stumpy baby carrot fingers sorry for the thread jack OP, if anything i hope it gets you pumped for your new toy.
  12. thats sounds like a good deal id start there everything is obtainable when 2 factors come together, money, and connections
  13. which serial number is on your sub? if its a noobmariner there are some options and some good information
  14. its my understanding there is a flat friction washer, which would be stuck between your sandwiched retaining ring and bezel ring, separate them and you should find it.
  15. yep, MBK 5513 cases fit genuine 5513 dials (personally tried, fit perfectly)which are 25.8mm or 26mm when advertised (rounded up)
  16. make sure it is indeed a wm9 with gen construction, there are a lot of taiwan reps going around that look the same with the same wm9v1 dial 'zubmariner' theres a nasty surprise hiding under that bezel ring in the form of a ratchet. complete write off if this is the situation. serial numbers even on reps play an important role, they tell the story. the engraving is suspect but that could of changed by now i suppose. heres the taiwan dial (i no longer just have dial pics for reference so ignore the case and everything else)
  17. watch running a little too fast at 2min/day 2846s are disposable tin, however i have regulated one to +6 in the past. im done with them especially the 17 jeweled variety tried to bleach the insert and i have left it overnight also but to no avail. use automotive grit wet sand paper, and sand while running the insert underwater date wheel im rather okay(date print a little rough) just find the date window a little more to the right. date window is a known flaw crown guard really too obvious fake. cgs are terrible, but arent they all? who can i send to shave the crown guard and replace with a better tube and crown guard? its not worth outsourcing to mod the PT IMO last, can a mbk dial fit and align into this PT slow eta? yes but MBK cant source replacement dials with feet for ETA , only when they come in a complete watch. why this is i'll never know, believe me i asked him twice. the PT datewheel was also designed for the PT dial who can cater this package for me? anyone willing? thanks
  18. im pretty sure no one on ebay will let a movement or a complete rolex go for $600, so if you want out im sure youll get your wish. well consider this pretty sweet deal. nothing more to buy once you have it either. http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tree&goto=5407127&rid=0 im sure you can counter with an offer of $3 even if youre geographically lucky and can do a face to face transaction with cash money. although at that price i wouldnt actually expect it to last long online.
  19. those prices you're dreaming. youre under estimating it by $1200 conservatively. factor in a gen crown, insert, bracelet, crystal, bezel assembly... +$1400 you've arrived at a used gen late 90s to early 2000s for little more. why not consider a chronograde ETA 2892, which is ETAs flagship, does well in their omegas and many other luxury brands, comparable to the 3135 at a fraction of the cost, most people experience a daily gain of +1 or better can be had for $250-$800 and everything in between. some food for thought. http://www.chronometrie.com/rolex3135/rolex3135.html alternatively why not consider a used late 90s 14060, classic design, rolex 3000 series movement, still every bit a rolex sub minus the debris sheltering date window. used prices are a negotiable $3200-$3800. theres even one on TZ for $2600 right now. own a real rolex sub right now for the same price as your proposed franken.
  20. i might get some flak for this, but gen movements just arent worth it in reps. nice to have? YES.
  21. youd have to fit a 702 tube and crown to achieve that, is it really worth the headache?
  22. phong cases and NDT, but it'll cost you, MBKs have been done as well with gen movements. they all accept gen parts, and all require a bit of work too. like cgs
