  1. nice! is that yukis new tudor dial or the older one he/she sold?
  2. MBK all the way. but that is indeed a $1000+ build to do it right
  3. are those 380bs or 580s? 580s could from $100 all the way upto $180 380s im not sure on market price. 593s seem to be around similar pricing as the 580 is that a gen clasp in the picture?
  4. ok, i measured both the PT insert for the 1665/1680 pieces, and the GENUINE 5513/1680/1665 insert with calipers...twice. my findings are in par with what i originally thought in mm PT INSERT 36.47 od 30.28 id GENUINE 36.40 od 30.20 id so to translate, the PT insert with sanding will fit into a gen bezel assembly, going the opposite direction the gen insert has a too narrow outer diamtere to fit right to the metal boundary of the bezel ring. only option would be with some glue to make it stick and accept a gap of .07mm the inner diameter would also have to be sanded on the gen insert. as for height and sitting recessed i did not measure that, as it would be too difficult to accurately measure. hope this helps.
  5. good to know! i was most recently searching for an apparel dealer i could give repeat business to, and was considering ordering from DIY storm with no reviews in hand i havnt as of yet. appreciate the review
  6. ive seen skinny coronets on dials, but agreed that dial and the hands need replacing.
  7. i remember fitting a PT insert into a GEN bezel, i had to sand the outter diameter and the bottom. this leads me to believe its larger than the gen isnert, so outter diameter wise a gen may be too small, same with the mbk insert. maybe borrow a few inserts from someone who has them lying around doing nothing and see what fits or can be worked with before you buy. when i have time later i can measure both a gen and a PT insert for you with calipers.
  8. you guys know you can bend the click spring to adjust the tension stiffer or softer. i played with the gen bezel on a 16610 at the AD and went home to fine tune a wm9v1 to the way the gen felt. worked well
  9. yes, MBK dial will fit the PT im not sure if you mean the MBK coronet has a small opening, or the PT, but the most recent MBK dials are just fine. many people seem to be searching for them all of a sudden right now. apparently theyre out of stock from sellers till february. im not sure about sanding the bezel insert, ive tried gen insert on an MBK and it fits 100% correctly with no sanding. 315-5513 i believe is the correct part no. you can also search 5513,1680,1665 insert some come with pearls some dont, w/pearl the price is higher, ofrei fits certain styles despite sharing the same part no. universally. my gen insert from the 80s the ofrei was slightly too wide, had to enlarge the insert hole just a wee bit.
  10. if you were ever looking for a SL pearl for your 16610 WO insert now is the time... 25 Euros
  11. i recently threw a commodore system out monitor/keyboard-processor, and dot matrix printer, my basement needed cleaning
  12. whats on the rise are endlink prices, im seeing $180 for 580s where as 1/2year ago $105 is barely too much
  13. way to go Andy new endlinks will definitely make a huge difference to this piece
  14. make sure you get rid of those horrible hands, and maybe a gen fat coronet crown
  15. very nice that BK transformer is amazing! bracelets not bad , end link fit is rough though. is BK still selling these?
  16. ive fit a gen 5513 dial and a 1680 redial in an MBK 5513 case, others have as well. i remember seeing some tudor builds as well from members here using MBK cases. cases are not rare, at least to me anyways.
  17. how do you find the endlink fit? im very interested in getting some 580s but dont want to spend $120 on the gen parts. these dont look too bad, stamping aside. my guess is the endlinks are from PT. paired with the 1680 this looks like an amazing duo!
  18. could always go vintage the no dates are less likely to get called out IMO
