  1. youd have to change a lot on it to be accurate, and those stumpy CGs will never make it appear gen no matter what you do. at this point in time if i were after a 5513 i might consider PTs 1680 put in a 5513 dial and T19. its already got the slow beat movement, its got CGs you could work with, it accepts 2mm bars and its the same price as the one you linked to here. even the bracelet on PTs is more correct, its jus the coronet on the clasp that is horrendous
  2. got pics? which markings, 580 or 285? are you using the actual PT bracelet, how did you find the quality of said bracelet? thanks Dizz
  3. do you have any other models like an mbk 1680 or 5513 to see how those 580s would fit? or even a pt 1680 with the 1680 endlinks to try on the pt 1665? i know the mbk 5513 and 1665 use different ends that dont work on the others case. the smooth flip lock is achievable by sanding. MBK the only problem is the clasp is actually a 92350 style with the 1/2 adjuster groupings down the length neither have correctly stamped endlinks for the 1665
  4. could always buy the JaW built one >$1K, part the extras out and keep the case for less. with that strategy it would only a few hundred more than yukis. its a lot of money upfront is all
  5. there are options eta 2452 eta 2472 these look awesome IMO, and were even used in DOXA diving watches, they are 18K A/H
  6. if it is indeed serviced, regulated, and adjusted, that is more or less on par with what you should expect to pay (shipping in).
  7. looks beautiful. change the crown and get those CGs and youve got something really great there. anyone fortunate enough to have work done by ubi has definitely got a jewel for their collection
  8. been looking for some nice fitting 580 endlinks for some time now, the price for gen links seems out of line, gram for gram more than twice the price of gold. im considering some aftermarket ones and was wondering if any one had some experience with any. considering a PT bracelet, the clasp coronet stamping is crap but it does have the correct 1/2 link adjuster grouping, and correct end link double connector instead of a solid piece. i know on the 1680 the endlinks are incorrectly marked and the stampings are too large. the PT 1665 has the 580 markings. my question is how well do the PT end links fit an MBK/MBW case? i thought i saw a member here include those endlinks in an MBK build but i cant find that post now. are the PT 1680 endlinks and PT 1665 endlinks the same size? i rather have the 580 labeled ones but i know in reality the gens have different sized endlinks and are not compatible. for members who own both; is the PT 1665 and 1680 the same mid case with the addition of an HE valve? thanks to all who can answer this, and to those who try
  9. 1570 is correct for the 5513 gen movements have been known to fit, members here have success stories with fitting gen calibers in mbk cases. a rolex movement is awesome and all but whats wrong with a slow beat eta? usually 1/10th the price
  10. the gens usually have a hex shape around the base of the stem tube. might be off a PT
  11. also keep in mind the position of the crown on our reps is lower than on the gen, and this affects the appearance of the cgs based on this relation.
  12. very interesting, i like the idea of repurposing stuff once its time has come.
  13. the ofrei pearl didnt fit my gen 80s insert, i believe its for the modern thin font inserts only.
  14. and there T19s dont even fit through gen 5513 inserts so far WSO is only good for 2mm bars and 703 crown tubes.
  15. i believe that does...thanks
  16. knew it was a yuki! cgs still need doing, dial needs replacing and the hands are terrible. dont understand why people think its miles ahead of the >$400 stock MBK, it needs almost as much work. and the work is the fun part
  17. with the additional ETA spacer ring from yuki it will. i mean if youre buying a 5513 case, the tudors should fit it natively
  18. thats a good deal just for the spare parts alone. bracelet, extra links, dial, hands, practicing some CG trimming, crystal... no date modern sub project anyone? a project X clone perhaps...?
  19. did the wm9 sub ever come with an unmarked bracelet link e.g 93250 was not engraved. im trying to organize my bracelets and i have this one labeled as a wm9, the clasp looks the part but it has no stamping on the end link.
  20. youre lucky the tudor subs can use 28.8k movements, 5513 youre most likely stuck with the low grade 284X slowy with self lubricating plastic pallets
  21. stock MBK, is silver. bad scan.
  22. i dont think many people enjoy doing them, i know its pretty tedious and time consuming. even after 4 hours im only done 1 side and in the end it still needs a final inspection and prepping for polishing back to a mirror shine. theres lots of talk of pbdad modding pieces, maybe even a mention in this thread, could give him a shout?
  23. more pics are needed, the 5512 doesnt seem to have the same beveling as the traditional mbk. retaining ring and caseback looks a bit different as well. dial doesnt look mbk either. this could all be due to the pictures not showing the details correctly. watch looks modded too, so its harder to tell for sure.
