  1. in my experience ETz sold MBKs for about $400 US shipped, dot remember if this was for a gen eta or not. ETA servicing from an AD would run $250 as of last year there have revisions to the MBK over the last 4 years. go ask for a 1680 what you get will not be what you expected. the 1665 has had different hev valve positions as well. the 16610 has changed several times and they no longer make the polex 16610s as of last year. who knows what the 5513s will looks like in 6 months. still dont over pay for one based on speculation that its rare, a little patience will reward you im sure.
  2. 5513 is more simple and clean , the no date of choice for me
  3. looks exactly like the cases i had. the cgs looks right, the dial looks correct, insert is a fatter font. the rear cgs look correct as well. get some engravings happening to know for sure. some case shots to assist in determining
  4. youre getting an mbk 16610?
  5. even that is too much, these can be had for $380-$400US shipped, and i wouldnt pay a penny more if youre shopping at the right place. the new ones are just as good IF you indeed get the correct case set, there are different versions being offered these days but its all in knowing exactly what youre looking for. skip the watch and just get the case ($180-$200), the rest of the MBK is wasted IMO and needs complete replacing. the movement is always fast beat, the dials are ok, but you will always replace these in the end. the hands suck, the bracelet is ok for a 9250 but you need a 9150. the 5513 movements are also buggy since theyre modified and have the date mechs removed by careless factory workers often resulting in the keyless works jamming a week later. mbk production is currently slowed, a little bit of patience will reward you with a better purchasing price IMO.
  6. horrible, forget it. the $100 noob is better. or better yet for around the same price buy bks TW sub, best you can get currently
  7. very cool stuff, its about personalizing your accessories and not resale value IMO. do you own the watch or does the watch own you? the rich are also not concerned with such things, take the sultan of brunei for example if they can afford to buy an ordinary rolex they surely wont care that personalizing it would ruin the resale value, in his case those dials are more rare. however the fascist regime known as rolex would never service this in a million years and some folks at vrf would have you banned. i bet it would [censored] them off something fierce on vrf to have a huge collection that are all personalized, especially if you had 2 DRSDs that were PVD'd and skeletonized
  8. thats used GEN Omega territory... hmmm
  9. DIY with corrugated white plastic from home depot, save yourself $70-$200+ like ive done. result
  10. cool -didnt know it came in a chrono model
  11. found some gen tritium ones for 200 euros today. i considered them to be broached for an eta but eventually concluded still too much for hands despite being the going rate of supply and demand
  12. i dont know, those stubbys are like a finger print to me, you can easily identify the cartel copies in a pile of 1680s, and the lug hole posistion doesnt help either.
  13. ive considered these watches many a time for the pure novelty and amusement of such a movement. just low on my personal priorities for collecting. but i need to definitely add this or a bulova 214 to my collection one day. GL
  14. easiest/cheapest franken rep rolex to pull off IMO is a glossy 5513 non franken WM9 16610 all that thing needed was a gen insert
  15. there are MANY on vrf currently. search back a few days. asking price is $300 though. i personally wouldnt pay $100/hand
  16. the fatter coronet is for 1665-1680-5513 and 16800 service replacement 703s but also fit the modern subs like the 14060, 16610 since all the crowns use the 703 system despite being intended for different models based on time period. many sellers just consider all 703s for all watches that accept the 703 crown. purists will say no. and so would i. modern sub, modern coronet style. but the good news is you can always sell them here and people would buy them.
  17. not gonna happen best bet is to get the tw sub, thats all thats available. best out of the box currently
  18. how much could a project like this be built for? debating between a new after 5513 project... either this or a seamaster 300
  19. i ve heard of people broaching gen hands are the 1570 hands a different size than the 3135?
  20. the balance staff could of come unseated or damaged, or it could just really need a servicing and de-gunking. but in my experience jewels do not just fall out... crack, yes.
  21. guess not... i d wager both versions still have the retaining issue when fitting a gen crystal tho
  22. correct. i was wondering how the font and print compares with the gen or even the wm9s
