  1. hey, my wrists are also kind of small for a breit, but i love them and wear them! i currently own a a7750 auto Bentley GT (racing edition) and a manual wind Chrono-Matic, used to have a Bentley 48mm which i have to a friend later and as some have already said, which i also agree - these watches are meant to be worn 'big'. wear them well my friends
  2. hi, does anyone knows if someone's still selling the Breitling Olympus rep with the full functioning quartz movement? is it a good rep for the money? is it realyl full functioning chrono quartz inc. the moonphase part ? my bro has one, that he bought in tailand 3 years ago. i'm not sure if they're still around. just wondering thanks
  3. hey, this is funny- as i've found out that SEIKO reps exists !!?? and they still exists till today and a few sellers on the bay are selling them in big quantities for around $20. this is weird, why to fake an already cheap watch? fun to look at the photos and see that even with such simple and easy to replicate watches, they've made some serious flaws db1
  4. hey, i'm not at all a guru in anything related to the inner works of movements, but as much as i know, if it's really a high-beat 28,800 movement, it should tick 8 times per sec, and 21,600 ticks 6 times per second. and i have reps with both 28,800bph movements and 21,600bph movements, and i always can tell a diff. as the 28,800 movement sweeps slightly smoother. last note: be aware that the smoothness of the sweeping doesn't always only has to do with the amount of BPH, i have a few asian made movement that are beating at 21,600 and are somehow sweeping smoother than other asian 21,600 watches i have, go figure probably something with the gearing.. as i heard that on a watch with a sub-secs the sweep is always smoother because it is not sweeping "directly" with the main sweeping part of the movement, or something like that. are you sure you've got the high-beat version?
  5. hey, thanks for the review! the Asian 21j 21600bph you have in your IWC portuguese 7 days, is actually a very good asian made movement ! it has more than functioning 21jewels in it if i am not mistaken. i have the same movement in a PAM Luminor Power Reserve and it works like a charm with good power reserve, and working power reserve (knock on wood hehe) wear it well my friend
  6. lol yeah, this model lacks information so i found out WUS has a dedicated forum for those brands, and i posted over there asd well i'm also a big fan, used to own a vintage seiko "big eyes" (panda dial) chrono and sold it, regret it till this day.. now they're priced so high!
  7. This is my latest aquire from the bay, i'm usually into reps, but sometimes also into vintage simple pieces as well. A vintage (probably 70's-80's) Seiko 5 with a Silver dial. it houses the 7009 (7009-3080 ?) movement (17j) which so i've heard is a real work horse. does anybody knows indepth information about this movement? other than the rumers i can't seem to find too much information about this specific movement model. here's a photo, let me know what you think
  8. damn, just saw a gen bentley GT again today, wearing my own GT , a rep B. BT (racing model with black dial and white subs) i keep noticing that the ONLY really noticable flaw from half a feet distance is the inner bezel which can be clearly seen as thinner on the gen, other than that- the rep is so close to perfect ! even the poor AR of the rep could get away with it as long as they would make a V2 rep with the correct inner bezel. so whats the big deal? it's really nothing special for a factory to resize the inner bezel a little thinner, i believe many members , both who currently have this rep, or those who avoided buying cause of the thick inner bezel - would be interested in a V2 version if the inner bezel flaw would be fixed. i mean, we keep seeing many models improved to almost perfection - is it too much to ask for only V2 bentley GT rep ? with only a slight mod that would make this rep so much better than it is now (while it's already very appealing IMO) my 2cents db
  9. aoobuy , this guy had been on my messanger list for over two years now ! never thought anyone on the board will come accross him! i've never bought anything from him, yet, even though sometimes i was close to make an order for a rep. but i've had a few good chats with this guy, he seem to be very eager to fulfill requests, even if he don't have a specific rep - you can show him photos or a link and sometimes he source it for you. i can't say anything further since i only talked to the guy, but he's in this business for a long time that's for sure. db

all i can say is - wow !!! wear it well
  11. OMG... ROFL this is one of the funniest things i've seen this past year !! i remember watching their vids while the guy compares his gen breits to replicas etc.. it happen to be his own web site is advertising reps, this is hilerious as hell
  12. amazing work and research! thumbs up francisco ! i always love seeing those threads i believe he would not be able to offer this mod to the masses, but if a batch of rings & DW could be made and sold as a "DIY" kit i believe many members would love to get their hands on them ! work of art ! keep it up
  13. Hi all, wear them well my friend about the retro grade secs watch: this is a nice watch for the price! they have them on the bay for around $80-120 if i'm not mistaken, they come with various of brand "names" on them. i've got a "louis bolle" tri-retrograde seconds- got it on the bay for $70 shipped international which is considerably cheap. im not a "cheap faux brand name" type of watch person, but the finish on what i've got is pretty good. the 3 sub retrograde second hands sweeps smooth, each sweeps for 20 seconds of a minute. after the first scale sweeped for 20 secs, it fly back and the next one sweeps another 20 secs, then the third..etc etc.. really nice looking complication, even though flyback complications has the risk factor of having them f#cked up. of course it doesnt have a high-end movement (it's a TY indead) but so far it works well and a good value for only $70 shipped. (knock on wood) db
  14. this is beautiful !! this project really DOES set a new standard to franken tri-compax navitimers
  15. thanks for letting me know andy, yeah im sort of deeply considering the rep, it's such a simple looking watch- yet classy and looks light weight and comfi
  16. thanks for all the feedback and pics guys so this specific omega rep is indeed very close to the gen (disregarding the logo issue on the dial), i really liked the gen vs. rep pics andy- now i can really see that thing with the "mega" letters and i can see the difference. in case i wanted to source a gen dial for this, any clue? i had seen many speedmaster and seamaster dials for pretty fair prices on the bay but i've never seen an aquaterre dial for sale before. i believe replacing the rep dial to gen would make this rep close to perfection in terms of beauty :]
  17. hey thanks for the tip! good to know about the logo issue (looks like a simple dial to source but haven't seen even one gen dial for sale on the bay yet for this model heh) do you have the aquaterra ? it looks comfi (10mm thick suppose to be light for a guy that is used to wear breits - and i dont have a big wrist )
  18. Hi, on my (very) long journey for a watch with a different style then what i used to have (big, bulky , blingy, etc..) i'm on the look for a watch with a 'classic' look to it (not too elegant not too sporty) which has to be kind of thin and not larger then 40mm in diameter. i came accross the Aquaterra rep, had a good reading of the threads on the board, and i've seen a few dealers offering it. even though it's being advertised as "eta 2892-2" which is a actually a seagul copy 2892 - and the price is way up in the sky for a non-eta rep that is not chrono. anyway i'm interested in this particular model- and the seagul 2892 is a good movement as much as i know. how's this rep feels ? what is the overall quality? accuracy ? is it true that it is possible to make an easy swap to gen eta 8292-2 on this rep? is it worth the money ? here's the one i were looking at: http://www.jpc8118.com/omse10015-aqua-terr...2892-p-923.html
  19. yeah, a bit odd but recently i started to steer away from my casual rep\watch taste.. i came across this one and thought that if it works it's good for the price (at $70 shipped international - it's like i've got it for about $55) it looks a bit diff. from what i've collected to date (mostly breit, rlx, and pam reps, some vintage autos etc) i always tried not to look at these 'fantasy brand' watches sold on the bay, but this time i thought - what the heck lets try it once the thing that concerns me the most is how long the TY movement would hold with this complication added on it, i'm aware that the TY movements are good asian movement for cheap 'regular' center sweep secs watches, but with this tri-flyback complication - probably more pressure is put on the movement. (or i'm all wrong?) advertised everywhere as having 38 jewels, not like i believe it if it actually had everything properly jeweled on that complication that could be fantastic. although the case look a bit too thick for such watch, i'll see when i'll get it probably :]
  20. Hey, just bought this watch from the bay, it's a non brand (or more like a - fantasy brand 'Louis Bolle') watch, automatic (cheap TY movement) with a tri-retrograde seconds complication (hopefully that this movement can power this up like i've seen on the tube in a vid lol) paid for it $70 shipped international, not bad for a try of a risky complication and movement . same watch like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/LOUIS-BOLLE-38-JEWEL-R...93%3A1|294%3A50 and here's a vid of the same watch with different "brand name" (vid from u tube): (if it doesn't load first time- reload again, it will load) what do you think?
  21. thanks for the replay Shundi ! yeah the seagul clone 2892 are looking pretty good, i wish more reps would be made with these movement under the bonnet, the truth is that in most reps where it's advert as 'asian' movement - it is really one of the TY movement that are the cheaper asian grade. also- i've seen most asian movement reps with flybacks has the TY movements (or DG? you pick ) modded with a flyback module. thanks for your info! yeah i'm sure more people can put a few words from their own experience too! any more info will be so much appreciated :] thanks!
  22. Hi, to make a long story short: for a pretty long time (over 2 months now) im after a new rep, this time trying to steer away from the breits and rlx, looking for something different, classy, non chrono that will be simple but also complex at the same time, a dial that tells the time but also have a gadget or two on it. i had a look at some reps with fly-back modules on them, some had date fly-back, some had seconds fly-back, i even saw on the bay a pretty cheap no-real-brand watch with a tri-retrograde flybacks that split a minutes into 3 fly-backs of 20seconds each ! saw that watch on the tube and looking very very attractive ! of course that watch has a TY movement and nothing higher grade. now down to my question, what do you think about the fly-back modules on asian movement ? is it too risky to have ? are they unreliable in a way that it doesn't worth the money ? anyone with a fly-back rep, or used to have any fly-back retrograde mechanical watch- any tip would be very appreciated if watchdog can throw a few words on this subject i would be even happier !! cause i couldn't find a thread like this on the whole board. hope you all will have a great weekend ! db
